Native gardening isn't just about pretty flowers for pollinators; it's about restoring whole ecosystems, right down to the decomposers and the bugs people don't want to see. Dead hedges, brush piles, even leaf litter—they're teeming with life, and that is the point.

The flies bring the spiders, the decaying wood brings the isopods and fungi, and the snails and termites play their part too. It's all connected. Trying to micromanage or sanitize it defeats the purpose. Nature doesn't need us to control it—it needs us to get out of the way and let it work. You're not being negative at all—you're bringing the conversation back to where it belongs: balance, patience, and humility.

Thanks for putting it into words that need to be heard more often in these spaces.
