He’s definitely still upset with me taking Ace away but I hope to soon introduce Fleur and him to each other. We’ll see how that goes!

Palomino Buttes Fleur D’or - Fleur 🌼
This little sweet girl has been home for two days now and she’s just been an absolute joy to be around. I’m keeping her separate from the others to let her face heal up a little more. Rebel and Nova have already touched noses with her and so far everything went well. Hopefully they will end up liking each other.
For now we’re just going to bond, while taking care of her face. 🌼

This one is for my first horse, Emily.
Ever since I moved back to the US I knew that one day I’ll be back to owning a black and white horsey. I’ve always kept my eyes and ears open but never really found anything I truly liked. During the last IA I tried winning one of the paints - of course didn’t have any luck with that.

Fast forward….

Everybody meet Aspen! 🌳
Aspen is a 3 year old Antelope Hills mare who’s currently being trained by Lucía and will move in with us by the end of September. She’s been doing wonderful so far and I can’t wait to meet her. Lucía has been sending me pictures and videos pretty much every day to keep me in the loop with her training process and I’m truly blown away.

There are going to be a lot of changes and updates coming in the next few weeks so stay tuned for that but for now we’re going to start off with and Ace update.

After endless hours of phone calls with trainer friends of mine I’ve decided to send Ace off for a complete re-start with an old and good friend of mine. She also has an Onaqui mare who has the exact same, deep sitting trauma like Ace and with her training method she managed to help her heal and accept domestic life.
has had her mare as long as I had Ace (they’re from the same HMA and were rounded up together) she was also deeply traumatized and even dangerous in the beginnings. Liz managed to get through to her and helped heal her scars so I know for a fact Ace will be in the best hands possible. And NO he won’t be sold!!
Thankfully Meg planned on visiting me sometime in July so she will be hauling Ace to Liz’s place up in IL on her way back home. I know with these two ladies by my side nothing can go wrong and Ace is set up for success. This re-start will be completely on his timeline - no pressure and set dates.
Zäna and Nyx will be helping Ace and will be acting as his emotional support/ herd mates while he’s there, who knows maybe they even remember each other. We will be working together, I will be visiting him as often as I can and there will be multiple Zoom calls a week. Liz will be posting and updating everyone on him over on her instagram account so if you want to follow along you’re more than welcome to check out her page 🌾

Before anyone asks why I decided to go this route rather than just letting him be with Joker and working with him by myself: there are many reasons but one of my main concerns are that we’re going into a very active hurricane season and I cannot risk him getting hurt because he won’t let me handle him. In an emergency situation I would have to be able to safely halter and load him onto a trailer and that is not possible at the moment.

Forever thankful for my family, especially my dad.
A few of you know that I’m currently in Germany visiting family and friends and my dad is in full “horse-daughter dad” mode.
Everyone is doing fantastic, they’re for sure enjoying all the extra carrots.
I for sure miss them A LOT!

It’s that time of the year where everyone starts hiding out in the shelters to get away from the horrible gnat invasion. 🪰
Ace and Joker are doing fantastic with just being horses and enjoying the occasional Liberty session. They’re not a big fan of “working” during this time of the year. Concentration is gone due to having to fight off all the flies so I’m not even trying.
If anyone has any tips to help eliminate these little suckers please let me know, I’m so tired of having them fly in my ears and eyes and I’m sure the horses are too!😅

I’ve been keeping a secret from you guys… there’s a new face in town! 🏇🏼

Everyone meet Rebel, a 14 year old 16.3hh OTTB gelding.
With knowing that Rocky was leaving I started to keep my eyes open for a new friend for Nova. I wasn’t in a hurry and a definitely wasn’t looking for an OTTB but his AD just made me fall in love with him. And yes, I was looking at mustangs and QHs but nothing really caught my attention.
A week before Rocky left the big boy moved in, he was in a pen next to Rocky and Nova to settle in and kind of meet them through a panel since I didn’t know how he would react.
Fast forward to the day that Rocky left… poor Nova was heartbroken.
Once he was gone I immediately turned Rebel out with her and they instantly fell in love with each other! - THANK GOD
It’s definitely been one interesting journey so far, re-training a horse isn’t as easy as training one that’s for sure.
He has been re-started and is great under saddle but still needs a toooooone of groundwork lessons and a bunch of muscle building and some more weight on his ribs.
I’m excited to see how and where our journey goes, I hope you guys like him as much as I do!

“Don’t buy a horse based off of color” - ever heard of that saying? 
I definitely have and never thought its true… well let me tell you I was very wrong.
My dream horse was always a pretty pinto, preferably black and white, so when I saw Rockys sales ad I knew I had to buy him.
Fast forward after a few months of owning him I realised he was not my horse at all… I didn’t want to just give up on him and tried for a little longer but we just did not click so I made the hard decision of looking for a new home for him. I Knew I didn’t just want to post him in some Facebook groups since people are just weird so I started asking some of my horsey friends if they’d be interested or knew anyone who would like him. Had some maybes here and there but nothing set in stone so I figured I’d just keep on trying with him. I did had one more person in mind who I havent asked yet so I sent her a message and she immediately said shed take him. She was actually part of the team who went to Texas for me to pick him and Nova up and fell in love with him at first sight. Nova actually kicked the s**t out of her lmao - sorry girl I had to include this funny detail. Back to Rocky, he’s gonna be living 3 hours away from me with my friend who I know will take such great care of him. He will have some siblings to play with and who knows maybe he will be her future roping partner!
I’m excited to follow their journey and watch him grow, I’m glad I was able to give him a good start in his young life but now its time to say goodbye, until we meet again.
Thank you for giving him an amazing new home, I wish you guys nothing but the best!

My boys in one and the same picture! If you have been following along in my stories you already know that Ace and Joker are spending more and more time together in the same pasture. People always ask me what I love about Ace…. his goofy-funny side is definitely my favorite. I always wonder how all the photographers got the nice pictures of him out in the wild because as soon as I get my camera out he’s all in my face like he knows what I’m doing so that’s why there aren’t too many “good” photos of him. Oh also excuse his green lipstick - he just finished dinner. 😅

After spending 3 hours in the hospital on Sunday I have decided to take a break from Instagram until I’m fully recovered.
Sunday morning I was snuggling Joker in his stall - like I do multiple times a day, when he suddenly spooked. He gave me a good butt bump and I slammed into the dividing wall - face forward.
Thankfully nothing is broke! I have a really bad hematoma right under the skin above my eye, lots of swelling, a popped lip and some minor scrapes. Adding to that my back still hurts lol

Until I’m feeling better my dad and brother will be taking care of the boys. Today they will finish up Aces side of the stall so he can move back in by tonight.
- I know my horse didn’t want to hurt me and everyone who thinks differently can hit the unfollow button!
