Some of you may remember a b***o we brought in last summer for a client to gentle. She quickly became one of my all-time favorites to work with—truly something special.

She had survived 20 years in the wild, completely defying the odds. You’d think with that many years on her own she might be set in her ways… but not this girl. She was beyond sweet from the very start.

When she arrived, she had severe sunburn on her white face that required daily treatment for a couple of months. After just a few days, she stood patiently and calmly for every treatment.

She is living proof that age is just a number and that older animals should never be counted out. She was one of the easiest, most willing b***os I’ve ever had the pleasure of gentling—and to top it all off, she had only been gathered a few months before I picked her up.

After heading off to her adopter, she adjusted smoothly, settling right in and giving tiny tots rides around the ranch like it was second nature. Watching her thrive in her new life was the perfect ending to an already incredible story.

Older doesn’t mean harder. Sometimes it just means wiser. 💛🫏
