Training Boykin Spaniels to the highest levels for HRC and AKC hunt test, BSS Nationals, and for hunting. National Field trials.

Hudson River Retrievers was an idea in my mind several years ago when a group of duck hunters would meet together on Saturdays to train our Boykin Spaniels on my property on the Hudson River in northeast Georgia. There weren't a LOT of these brown dogs around here back then and were even fewer that we'd call great duck dogs. One thing led to another and I got addicted to the hunt test game. It was

there that I started to see how many Boykin owners there were in the Southeast. Through lots of discussion with some of my fellow training friends (both professional and amateurs) I decided to start specifically training Boykins for the public. Our desire is twofold:

First off, to uphold the mission of the Boykin Spaniel Society to encourage and promote the breeding of purebred Boykin Spaniels and to do all possible to perpetuate their natural hunting ability. Secondly, to build the best Boykin Spaniels possible that can perform at the highest level in HRC and AKC Hunt Tests and compete in the B.S.S.

Bree Broome can write about it later when she gets back from her trip. But im super proud of the job she did training and running Koto over the last couple years. What a really nice female boykin. And proud of her for continuing the HRR standard of getting HRCH titles on boykins. She allows me to not have to go to every test and represents us well every weekend. Thanks and congratulations to Sharmel White Miller for trusting us and enjoying the journey. Have fun with her (for a little while) but MH is next. This is a really nice dog and is definitely ready to get her Master title now. But well wait till after Master Nationals.
