We perform surgeries at our Lumberton office on select Mondays and Fridays; the clinic is located at 1400 Linkhaw. Saturdays are for sharing sweet "Happy Tails!"
Limerick was actually born in the Saving Grace van while we were transporting her mama from to Saving Grace NC in Wake Forest. She was fostered until she was old enough to be adopted and we just got this update from her furever family.....

"Limerick is doing great! We kept her name because we loved it, and she has the nickname of ‘Ricki-roo’
Limerick is a darling sweet girl. She loves chasing the rabbits and squirrels, and going for rides in the car. She goes on walks several times a day, but her favorite place is the pond so she can check out the turtles and the geese.
Her favorite games to play are fetch and tug-of-war. She also loves to explore the backyard with her squeaky ball, and she has a neighborhood bestie named Bailey.
Most of all though, she loves snoozes and snuggles on the couch with us. We love her so much"

It's "Happy Tail" Time!
Yippie, now named Coast, is living his best life with his new family! He was a shelter dog who we transported back to Saving Grace NC in Wake Forest where he was adopted. His new family said.....

"Yippie (Coast), is doing great.
He is a bundle of energy and love and a great addition to our home!"

We couldn't agree more- dogs are always a great addition to a home (especially shelter dogs!)

It's "Happy Tale" Tuesday! Wise, now named June and nicknamed Sq**rt, came from shelter to Saving Grace NC in Wake Forest where she was adopted. Read what her new owner had to say:

"Wise is doing great! She’s really funny and is running our roost. My 16 year old absolutely loves her, we all do but she’s smitten with her.
She’s given up on socks stealing but has a bucket of fun at her disposal with plenty of toys to chew on. She loves her daily walks but is lazy about very short runs.
We are taking her to the beach for the first time this weekend. It’s going to be interesting.
Her name is June, I call her Sq**rt. She’s smart but stubborn. We’re working on training her. Her health is better, she goes bananas for her food, gets fish oil to help with her skin issues, it’s now beautiful though.
She completes our family."

We're so glad that this sweet girl found her new family!

It's Fri-yay! How about a 'Happy Tale'? Pepper was a shelter dog that got adopted at Saving Grace NC in Wake Forest. Her new family said...
"Thank you so much for checking in with Pepper! Pepper is so much fun and full of energy! My son and I adopted Pepper back in April and we have enjoyed her being part of our little family. Pepper is 10 months old now, and growing up so fast. Pepper loves to go for walks, ride in the car, take naps on the couch, play football with my son, Will and most of all get snuggles from us. Occasionally I will take her to doggie daycare—which she loves bc she gets to play with her friends. . Thank you for allowing my son and I to adopt Pepper! Please share these photos with your staff bc everyone there is super nice and so welcoming. I follow y’all on social media and those sweet puppies and doggies are so cute n adorable! Thanks again for checking in and we are doing great."

We love receiving updates from adopters! Here is a 'Happy Tale' about a Robeson County shelter dog who was adopted at Saving Grace NC in Wake Forest!

I just wanted to send a note to say thank you. We adopted our sweet Honey bun, (formerly 'Cuddly Cactus,' from Mrs. Grinch’s litter) 9 months ago and she is just what our family needed. My husband, myself, and our 2 children each have a unique bond with Honey. She loves to play fetch and cuddle with her stuffies. She is just perfect and we love her so much. We just celebrated her 1st birthday! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving her mama, so she could join our family. Here is Honey on her birthday.

Kicking off the week with a 'Happy Tale!' Teeter is another shelter pup that was adopted at Saving Grace NC. Read what her new family shared with us:

"Teeter is doing great! She is a happy puppy that continues to learn every day. She graduated puppy training in July. She is just about 8 months old now and not sure if she will get any bigger but she is the perfect size for us.
We love her and we hope her brothers are doing great with their new families.
I have attached a few pictures. Thank you!!"

Let’s start the week off right with another Robeson County shelter dog’s ‘Happy Tale!’

Gus, formerly known as Demo, came in like a tiny ball of fury when he landed on our farm but settled in very quickly. At first, he could care less for either of my other pups but they've since come to an agreement that Gus is the boss (or so he thinks). I don't know what his life was like prior to arriving at Saving Grace NC but I assume most things he's experienced in the past months were firsts for him. Gus has gone hiking, enjoyed time in our pool, become a fave co-worker at my job, and recently learned how to paddle and prone board with me! He's definitely a one person dog and I'm overjoyed every day that I'm his person. Like any pup he has his quirks that never fail to make me smile...like stealing one shoe when he is upset with me about anything and also requiring one shoe to sleep with every night. It's non-negotiable, trust me.
I honestly couldn't have wished for a better little dude. Gus has been so much fun and is always overly excited to see me when I come home. I'm in awe at how well he adapted to everything that has been thrown his way, he's always up for our next adventure! Thank you all again for being the bridge to getting my little buddy to me, I am forever thankful we found each other!

"Meow (now Ruby) is doing great! She was very shy and quiet at first but she came out of her shell quickly. Our whole family loves Ruby and she and our other dog are best friends. They play together nonstop! I’ve attached some recent photos."

We are grateful to be able to share our space in Robeson County with Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic of the Sandhills! Their services provide spay/neuter and low cost wellness options for the animals of Robeson County.

Our volunteers in Raleigh this week at the NC Pet Expo. Volunteer for your local shelter, you will. meet so many awesome people....and of course animals too! We saw many alumni, including Fulton the yellow lab mix, a RobCo alumni adopted through us over a year ago. It is always special to see how the shelter dogs become such loved family members!

Kicks came to Saving Grace NC in June from animal control in Robeson County. He was emaciated, had very little hair and was in poor condition. After receiving medical care and good nutrition for a couple of months, he is looking much better. He still has to go through Heartworm treatment and fill out a bit to be in tip top shape but in the meantime, Kicks loves participating in the weekend sleepover program. It sounds like his hosts love him too! Sometimes shelter dogs need are diamonds in the rough, and always worth the time it takes to see them shine!

Kennel Manager and Coordinator

Position Summary
The Kennel Manager and Coordinator upholds the mission of Saving Grace and serves under the direction of the Founder/Executive Director of Saving Grace NC. The Kennel Manager and Coordinator overseas and takes care of the facilities and animals and day-to-day functioning at Saving Grace Robeson County. He/She will also partner with local veterinarians to coordinate and organize community outreach. Ensures all decisions and choices follow the branding and direction of Saving Grace NC.

Responsibilities
Animal Care
• Understands the processes of intake/caretaking/vaccinating/medicating/cleaning of the animals in care and maintains proper medical protocols and manages the volunteers who provide the care
• As directed by the ED- picks up animals from shelter partners and interacts with animal control
• Maintains compliance with current clean/sanitizing practices for the kennel areas and facilities
• Oversees the mental and physical health, well-being, vaccinations, preventatives, and transport of all shelter animals
• Maintains working relationships with local veterinarians
• Maintains working relationships and coordinates with fosters who have animals in his/her care
• Maintains a calendar and coordinates with volunteers on the animal care schedule

Operational Management
• Manage data entry in Shelter Luv, and inventory for Rob Co location
• Obtains materials, supplies, and equipment within budget specifications; submits supply orders to Meghan or the appropriate SG team member on Monday’s, 2 weeks in advance of when supplies are needed.
• Oversees preventative and required maintenance for facility equipment, buildings, décor, and grounds

Community Outreach
• Works with the Executive Director to address public concerns, questions, or problems
• Recruits, trains, oversees Volunteer program
• Recruits, trains, oversees Puppy Foster program

Required Skills
• Current working knowledge of companion animal care and adoption issues
• Strong verbal/written communication skills
• Working knowledge of basic technology communication tools and database platforms
• Ability to work independently, take direction, and follow through on assigned tasks
• Management and interpersonal skills with the volunteers/staff, and the public
• Ability to vaccinate, medicate, handle, house, transport animals
• Knowledge and compliance of state and local regulations of the Dept of Agriculture and the Animal Welfare Act of NC
