🛑We DO NOT dock tails.🛑
Why? Because there is no legitimate need for a Rottie to have a tail docked. It's always been about personal preference and not the betterment of the breed. If you prefer your tails docked we are not the breeder for you, but I can recommend some who are excellent breeders, but have chosen to go the route of a docked pup!

Myth: Protection dogs need it docked so that the attackers have less to grab onto.

Truth: Absolutely incorrect. Dogs use their tails for balance and communication, and by cutting them off we aren't doing the dog any favors. And if that was true why don't we dock German Shepherds and Belgain Malinois? They are the all time all stars in Police and Military fields.

Myth: Breeders who don't dock are bad breeders trying to save money.

Truth: It actually costs us very little to dock a tail. About $40 per puppy. In comparison to what it actually costs to breed and rear a beautiful litter it's just a drop in the bucket.

Myth: AKC requires it for showing and conformation and if they have a tail they are less valuable.

Truth: They do not require it although it is preferred by some judges. Having a tail is not a disqualifying fault and as of August 2022 is now apart of the standard. There are many top ethical breeders who are placing dogs and putting points on tailed Rottweilers now. A dogs worth is not determined by his/her tail but rather by overall conformation, pedigree, tempermant and health. If all of that is in order there is no reason to be obsessed with tails. In fact the ADRK requires Rottweilers to have their full tail.
