I love puppy updates!! ❤️
This family is close to my heart, our first puppy born, first puppy to be reserved AND he was our Rip’s look alike. I thought the coincidences ended there, but guess what this family decided to name this handsome guy?

And I’m proud to say they couldn’t get enough, and took home Charlotte from our next litter.

Rip has a little boy who use to be terrified of dogs, and now he has a best friend 🐾❤️

With it being the Anniversary month of us loosing our Rip, we felt it might be a good time to explain why we do what we do at Ripley Danes. My husband and I had always wanted a large breed dog (I wanted a Dane, bad) so I talked him into trying a Dane out. I’m not by any means telling you our first puppy stage was great, but I will say we fell in love with him. He was our first dog together, our best friend, our horse we got to take home after work (we own a farm). At a 1.5 years old he was diagnosed with an angry cancer. We had it removed just to have it come right back the next day. It happened fast, but it took our boy. That night we said never again will we get a Dane. And that next morning we started looking. The void he left was too much for us to handle, even with three other dogs we loved greatly. We went from “never again” to realizing how incredible our 1.5 years with him really was. How could we not have even a little bit of that in our lives?
So we started searching, searching for health guarantees, bloodlines, genetic problems… researching everything we could possibly research to make sure we didn’t go through that again. We found “Dutton” (we love Yellowstone) in South Carolina, flew out the day before Xmas Eve and drove him home. Two years later we found Gunnner. It took two Danes to fill the void our Ripley left. Everything that happened made us realize how incredibly special this breed is, how different each of their personalities are. We have had 7 Danes and not one has been “just like Rip” but it’s wonderful that way.
So why do we breed Great Danes? We want to share this love with as many people as we can! We want to raise healthy, happy Danes for loving families. We want to make the search easier for you when you decide to add this wonderful breed to your family. And we want to eliminate the dreaded “they don’t live long enough” that I was guilty of thinking as well, because guess what, sometimes they do! And if they don’t, I can personally tell you only 1.5 years was worth knowing our boy. Heartbreak is hard, but the reason why we feel it is beautiful. We wouldn’t trade a second we had with him for anything. With Ripley Danes, his memory will live on 🖤

All of our sweet pups from Litter Bravo went home to wonderful families! Stella & Gunner had some beautiful pups with incredible personalities, we can’t wait for their next litter!

As a Family we would like to Welcome our first (two leg’ed) Daughter 🎀Lucy🎀 to the Dane family! and her best bud, Douglas from our Alpha litter.
