We are excited to announce our new after-hours service to our small animal clients: VetTriage!
Are you worried about your petβs health when our clinic is closed? Visit vettriage.com/rock to connect with veterinarians who are available 24/7. They will assess your pet on a live video chat for a small fee ($50, no matter the length of time your consult requires) to determine if your pet requires immediate emergency care, or simply needs monitoring at home until we reopen. In the event of an emergency, they will continue to support you and coordinate your visit with the appropriate emergency veterinary hospital. Getting that peace of mind is priceless! We know that you will find VetTriage veterinarians to be knowledgeable, compassionate, and timely.
If you do not have internet access or a device with a camera, you can purchase a phone triage session by calling (800) 940-1921.
Please note, this update does not apply to our large animal clients.
Today and every day, we are honored to be surrounded by a hard-working farming community.
Ticks can be tricky to find on your dog. Ticks can be anywhere, but are generally hiding in one of seven areas, so be sure to check your dog thoroughly in these places.
We know you hate to hear it but ticks are in full force!
Ticks have been found on pets and staff! π€’ We have quite the collection in our tick jar already.
If you haven't already, NOW is the time to get your pet on tick and flea prevention. We have plenty of INSTANT rebates to take advantage of as well! π€©
Moments from the Trail with Dr. Emily
We are so excited to share this with you!
Remember when we announced that Dr. Emily was selected to be one of the trail veterinarians for the Iditarod sled dog race in Alaska this year? When she arrived in Alaska, we found out she couldnβt share any info with us until the race was finished. Now that sheβs back, we put together a little video to showcase her time on the trail. Hereβs what Dr. Emily had to say about her experience in Alaska.
βHi everyone, thank you so much for sharing your excitement about Iditarod 2023! Some major highlights for me included walking on the street next to the dogs during the ceremonial start in Anchorage, flying over the actual trail on the way to my first checkpoint in Nikolai, flying with returned dogs loose in the plane, and watching Ryan Redington's team come into the Elim checkpoint just a few stops before he went on to win it all in Nome. A fun insider story is Ryan opened a fortune cookie at the musher's banquet that said his lucky number would be 5. He then drew bib #5 for the race, and the rest is history! I hope you enjoy some of my favorite photos and videos!β

The Tom Cat Round Up was a success!
We had a great turnout and are so glad we, along with some awesome owners, were able to help prevent a cat overpopulation in our area.
"September 11 motivates me to live a better life. The way I can honor those we lost and those who were injured is to live a fruitful life. To be an example to others that September 11 did not destroy us."

We are sad to see them go but also wish them the greatest happiness and success in their careers.
Alyssa's last day is June 2nd and Kim's last day is June 17th.
On that same note, if you or someone you know is interested in becoming a pet groomer at Rock Veterinary Clinic, please call us at 507-283-9524 or send your resume to [email protected]. We would love to have you join our team!
Happy Easter to you and your loved ones.
