Found dog!

Does anyone recognize this sweet old gal?? The Sheriff’s Office found this older female Husky mix this afternoon.

She does not have a microchip or any collar/tags. She seems to be stiff in her back legs, potentially arthritic.

Found dog! This sweet girl was found with no tags around Barck and McKenzie streets in Luverne, MN this afternoon. She has a microchip, but unfortunately is not registered.

She looks to be a young female adult mini poodle or poodle mix, tan/apricot in color. Has been freshly groomed and is friendly.

Please contact us if this is your dog or you know who she belongs to. We will keep her cool and safe at the vet clinic tonight. 507-283-9524

We are excited to announce our new after-hours service to our small animal clients: VetTriage! Are you worried about your pet’s health when our clinic is closed? Visit vettriage.com/rock to connect with veterinarians who are available 24/7. They will assess your pet on a live video chat for a small fee ($50, no matter the length of time your consult requires) to determine if your pet requires immediate emergency care, or simply needs monitoring at home until we reopen. In the event of an emergency, they will continue to support you and coordinate your visit with the appropriate emergency veterinary hospital. Getting that peace of mind is priceless! We know that you will find VetTriage veterinarians to be knowledgeable, compassionate, and timely. If you do not have internet access or a device with a camera, you can purchase a phone triage session by calling (800) 940-1921. Please note, this update does not apply to our large animal clients.

We are so excited to share this with you! Remember when we announced that Dr. Emily was selected to be one of the trail veterinarians for the Iditarod sled dog race in Alaska this year? When she arrived in Alaska, we found out she couldn’t share any info with us until the race was finished. Now that she’s back, we put together a little video to showcase her time on the trail. Here’s what Dr. Emily had to say about her experience in Alaska. β€œHi everyone, thank you so much for sharing your excitement about Iditarod 2023! Some major highlights for me included walking on the street next to the dogs during the ceremonial start in Anchorage, flying over the actual trail on the way to my first checkpoint in Nikolai, flying with returned dogs loose in the plane, and watching Ryan Redington's team come into the Elim checkpoint just a few stops before he went on to win it all in Nome. A fun insider story is Ryan opened a fortune cookie at the musher's banquet that said his lucky number would be 5. He then drew bib #5 for the race, and the rest is history! I hope you enjoy some of my favorite photos and videos!” Dr. Emily

Alyssa has decided she would like to spend more time with her family and Kim has decided to go back to school to pursue a new career. We are sad to see them go but also wish them the greatest happiness and success in their careers. Alyssa's last day is June 2nd and Kim's last day is June 17th. Our Story

Rock Veterinary Clinic, P.A. has served the Luverne area for over 45 years, and we are committed to serving the needs of our patients and clients with excellent veterinary care, service and advice. Our goal is caring for both animals and people.

The practice traces its roots to the veterinary practice initiated by James R. Juhl, DVM who opened his practice in Luverne in July 1959. In 1963, Dr. Don Wert joined Dr. Juhl as the partnership of Drs. Juhl and Wert. Dr. Wert left the practice in October of 1967, and Dr. Gordon G. Hamann joined Rock Vet in November of that same year. Dr. John D. Bowron started practicing at the clinic in July 1971. On July 1, 1972, the practice was incorporated under the name Rock Veterinary Clinic, P.A. with Drs. Juhl, Hamann, and Bowron as shareholders. The clinic was at that time located at 307 W. Harrison in Luverne. A new clinic was built Β½ mile south of Luverne on Highway 75 and was occupied May 19, 1980.

Dr. David M. Iverson joined the practice in January 1979, and Dr. Kay L. Burkhart became an associate that July. She was a shareholder from 1981 to May 1985, when due to an injury and the farm economic crisis, Dr. Burkhart left the practice. She returned three years later and was with Rock Veterinary Clinic until May 2009 when she retired to return to the family farm.

In June of 2003, Dr. Angela K. VanHolland joined the practice, and in July 2004, Dr. Jason E. Johnson started at Rock Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Hamann retired from Rock Vet in August of 2005 to practice in a small animal clinic in the Minneapolis area.
