Wesley would like to remind his SMVC friends that we will be CLOSED next week on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th in observation of Thanksgiving!🦃🐾 We will reopen Monday, December 2nd at 8:00am! Please keep this in mind if food orders need to be placed or medications need to be refilled! Also, just a reminder we require 48 hours notice for medication refills! Please plan accordingly!

What is an office manager? Google says: "An office manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of an office or organization". This is Jocelyn our amazing office manager (and her French Bulldog, Vinny). She does so much more for us than just the "day-to-day" operations. You may see Jocelyn around the office wearing many "hats" (or her tiara depending on the day) whether she is a receptionist, IT, a technician, brownie baker, or sometimes our personal therapists. She does all of that and so much more for us here at SMVC. So we want to say thank you for everything she does and say Happy Practice Manager Recognition Week. We are a little late but better late then never, we know she will understand. Please help us say a big thank you to Jocelyn and everything she does for our clinic.

Meet Bruin :)

We would like to welcome Bruin to our SMVC family. He sure is a cutie who loves our treats :)

Here is one of our patient's, Emma, keeping a close eye on her birdie friend collecting hair for the nest. :)

Thumper has one powerful purrrrbox and she's not afraid to use it! She's known to SMVC as the purrrrminator! We just think she is such a delight to have for a visit in our hospital. :)

Jesse is snoring up a storm :) She's resting comfortably with her cozy blankets!

So I had to share! Pistol, Dani's New pup, is pretty frightened of nail trims. Particularly the dremeling. Here is a video of classically conditioning her for the nail trim! FYI, steps before this included 1) eating in viscinity of running dremel 2) nose touching the dremel while off 3) paw targeting the dremel while off and this is step 4) foot targeting the running dremel! Next steps will be 5) paw targeting the running dremel while I hold it 6) holding the paw target for seconds 7) then holding the dremel to her foot for seconds 8) then holding her foot to them sanding side for moments and seconds. Have lots of yummy rewards handy for this process and keep sessions under a minute each! Eventually nail trim means food and will be fun!
