This is Liv with her dog Freyja working "Spins" into her "Heel". Adding "Spins" into "Heel" can be difficult, so we are very proud of both Liv and Freyja for mastering this technique! Well done y'all!!

In this video I am demonstrating how to use a Lure to add "Spins" to "Heel". We like to teach this for several reasons: "Spin" is fun for the dog, it helps to maintain engagement with the dog and lastly, because it is fun for the human, lol.
In the next video you can see Freyja working this with her human Liv.

Happy Holidays y'all. We are urgently looking for a new home for this sweet puppy. With a little bit of training she can likely learn to live in a multi-dog home. Happy Pack Dog Training and Boarding will help you with that training. IF YOU CHOOSE TO ADOPT THIS PUP, HAPPY PACK WILL GIVE YOU THREE FREE TRAINING SESSIONS.

A quick clip of practicing recall off of the TONE function of the E-Collar. E-Collers are a great way to allow your dog to have more freedom. However, it's important that you train your dog on the e-collar before using it. If you're interested in getting your dog e-collar trained, shoot us a text or give us a call. We'd be happy to help you out.

Miss Tootie helped me demonstrate a quick and easy way that you can work on impulse control and "bolting". This technique is a great way to bring some structure to your dog's daily life while also strengthening basic obedience.

This is a quick video of little Tootie helping me demonstrate one way to build up your relationship and engagement with your dog. Notice how I keep my voice fairly high when giving her praise as well as how often I give her praise. That excitement is important. Dogs really respond to us getting excited. It's a great way to increase the likelihood of the behavior being shown again.

I wanted to share with you all how well Liv and Freyja are doing in their training. Today we taught Freyja "up" and she's already a champion at it!

Having fun while training is important. There are many ways to make training fun and those ways can vary from dog to dog.
For example, today I used Lucy's love for playing fetch in the water to work "Sit-Stay". I had her hold a "Sit-Stay" while I walked around gathering sticks. I then released her from "Sit-Stay" by saying "get it!" and throwing a stick in the air for her to catch.

This method of training is great for several reasons. 1) I am able to reinforce her "sit-stay" with play, rather than only relying on treats and food. 2) She is getting both mental and physical activity. 3) We are strengthening our relationship by spending quality time together.
Try to use play to train basic obedience. Every dog is a little different, but I guarantee there is a way to make training enjoyable. If you need help, reach out to us. We are happy to help you find a way to make training fun for both you and your dogs!

Meet Rigel and Beth. Rigel is one of the most traumatized rescue dogs I've met. He's been neglected, beaten and abandoned. About a month ago Beth adopted him. This is Beth's first experience with adopting a rescue, so she wasn't prepared.
When she first brought Rigel home he panicked. In his fear and confusion he bit Beth hard on the hand. She had to go to the ER to get stitches.
Two weeks later they called me and we got to work building Rigel's confidence. Through training methods that prioritize building a relationship, understanding how to communicate effectively with your dog, and helping to motivate them to be excited to engage with you, we are able to help dogs like Rigel live the life they deserve.
He is now comfortable and happy in his new home! Beth is no longer afraid of Rigel biting her. In fact, she now gets kisses from him!

Taking our dogs out on a hike or to a new park will have numerous benefits. We recommend that everyone gets their dog 1-2hrs of physical and mental activity a day. This can be achieved countless ways, such as playing together, going on walks, training (basic obedience, agility, scent work, ect ), food puzzles, chewing on bones, ect.
Hitting this 1-2hr goal will have a wide range of benefits, including improving your dog's health, improving your relationship, mitigating problem behaviors and so much more.
If you need help finding ways to achieve this goal, leave a comment, message me on Facebook or call us at 512-783-0952.
