Hey guys we have a few updates/reminders:
🐶 All dogs must be up to date on rabies, kennel cough, and distemper vaccines yearly for bathing and grooming. Also, all cats must be up to date on rabies, FVRCP, and FELV vaccines yearly for bathing and grooming.
Vaccines can be done before the appointment, or day of - depending on Lynchburg Vet availability.
🐱 If your fur babies come in with fleas/ticks and/or no monthly prevention, they will receive a medicated bath with us and depending on severity, a CapStar or monthly preventative from the Vet at an extra charge.
🐶 All early morning drop-off and late pick-ups must be communicated before the appointment to be arranged. Please note, some all day drop-offs (latest pick up 4:45pm) may be subject to day boarding charges at the vets discretion.
🐱 If you are inquiring about a grooming appointment, you must confirm that you want that date and time. No appointments will be held without a confirmation, either through Facebook booking, Square Appointments, text messages, or a phone call.
🐶 There will be a late cancellation fee for all no call/show appointments and appointments cancelled less than 24 hours notice. This must be paid in full before booking a new appointment.
We are more than happy to assist with any questions or special arrangements you may need!

A truck bed full of 11 kittens was just brought to us!
These babies were dumped at a bridge! 😭
They are hungry, sick, and terrified! The veterinary costs are going to add up! We are so thankful for any donations to help with their care! The kitten canned food donations arrive just in time!! Thank you so much! ❤️

Hey everybody! We are back in from being off for medical leave and we are going full swing at the shop!
With that being said we are currently booking 5-6 weeks out, if you’re needing to get your babies in we highly recommend getting on the schedule and on our cancellation list in case something opens up sooner!

Effective March 1st, a short application will be required to receive free pet food.

Food from our Community Pet Pantry Program will only be distributed on Wednesdays 12 pm-4 pm. Food will also be available during the monthly Pet Wellness Fairs (Second Saturday of the month).

A punch card will be provided allowing clients to get one visit to the Pet Food Pantry per month.

We have made these decisions and created guidelines for this program so we are able to provide services to as many people and animals as possible within our resource capacity.

The demand for food has increased significantly, and our resources are limited. We must ask our community members to play by the rules.

We are very thankful that we can provide this service to our community, but we must do so from within a safety net of boundaries.

Hey everyone! I have some important updates:
🐶 I will be having major surgery this next month on March 3rd, and I will be out of shop til April 3rd for recovery. All booking inquiries during that time will be returned at our earliest convenience.
🐱 We are currently booked til the end of February, and already booking into April. If you need to get in in April let us know in advance to guarantee an appointment. We also recommend going ahead and booking several appointments in advance. We can also put you on our cancellation list as well in case we have any openings.
🐶 If you have a appointment with Faith for the month of March those will continue as scheduled. If for any reason you need to change or cancel your appointment please call 931-759-5550 to speak to Faith.
We appreciate your patience, understanding, and prayers during this crazy phase! Y’all are all amazing and we couldn’t ask for better clients and fur babies!

As Theo starts day 563 with us here at the shelter, we can’t help but wonder why he’s still here. This photo perfectly sums up Theo. When he is in the play yard, he can be wild and crazy. He loves toys and he loves attention.

He used to be part of large play groups. If anyone remembers Gracie, she fell in love with Theo and he was the only dog she would play with. After Gracie was adopted, Theo hasn’t been the same. He’s entered other groups, but you can tell he misses her. He does better playing when someone is out there to play with him. He gets easily excited and he is very active.

If you are interested in Theo and don’t want to see him get up to 570 days in the shelter, please fill out an adoption application today. He is 2.5 years old and has spent 1.5 years living the shelter dog life. It’s time he got a taste of what it’s like to have a family! Please help us get our boy in a home.

It's going to be COLD Friday and the Lynchburg Vet Hospital team has made the decision to close that day. We will be open today (Tuesday) until 5, Weds 8-12 and Thurs 8-4. Then we'll see you again Monday next week!
No matter what kind of creatures you have outside, they are going to be subjected to crazy low temperatures. Please make arrangements now for them to be dry and out of drafts with plenty of food and non frozen water. A heat source is a must for dogs and cats, no matter what anybody tells you!
