Hello everybody!
It’s been a crazy two months, but I am back on. College had started, and I put a pause on my breeders to get into the new groove of school.
I plan to downsize my herd, so watch for some breeding age does and bucks that will be available soon!

Planned fall litter: Sage (WE blue continental giant) and Basil (1/2 import black buck)

Every bunny looks happy and healthy!
Just finished cleaning out their cage for the day. I let them run around the porch while I sweep and mop, and all these guys want to do is hop on me! Some of them give me kisses, while others run around like a crazy rabbit.
I have been really happy with their growth. Full continental litter, and pedigreed. All possible otter carriers.

She always came up to her cage door to be pet.
She always wanted a scratch on the nose.
She loved to be let out for photo shoots.

Sweet girl passed yesterday afternoon between 6-8.
Sometimes you do everything you can do. I had been out to the garden 5 times yesterday, and she looked perfectly fine. She had water, shade, and was situated in a breezy location.
I always think "it could never happen to me". But it happens to the best of us. Heatstroke is a big deal.
She left me with 9 babies. (Little Dice passed as well)
I have moved my entire Rabbitry into the barn with fans on them. (I hope to post a video tour soon!)

While this post is very sad, I want to raise awareness about heat stroke and rabbits. It happens to the best of Rabbitrys. I have talked to other breeders and seen that yesterday was a rough day for many of us. Please watch your babies in this heat. And if you are already doing all you can, this post isn’t meant to scare you. The best you can do is all you can do.

I will bury sweet Bluebell and Dice by a hidden creek on the property. ❤️ They both knew they were loved before they passed.

These boys are siblings to my current continent giant litter!! They are almost breeding age. I highly recommend Lavender Creek Continental Giants. She takes excellent care of her bunnies.
