Fun weekend at HRKC! We took Sylvie entered in weight pull and conformation, River entered in WP, Conformation and nosework, Jess entered in WP. I am so proud of every one of them!
Sylvie won breed 5 of the 6 shows with three Group 3 and two group 4 in a lovely line-up of gun dogs. She earned 125 points towards her WP Elite Champion title as well as THREE "Most Weight Pulled Per Body Pounds" in the "B" division. First time shes pulled that off. "B" division is tough. She earned Three "Total Dog" awards for the weekend.
River had some steep competition in the Grand class as well as the rest of the breed. He won the grand class and Best of Breed for one emerald leg. Three Reserve Grand Champion wins. He was entered in two nosework runs and qualified in both. With q's in all the novice elements hes earned his NN (nosework novice) title. This was his first try at weight pull. He had three qualifying pulls for his UWP title and earned points towards his champion title. He also earned three Total Dog awards this weekend.
Jess normally comes along for the ride, but this time we decided to bring him out of retirement and get the three pulls he needed to end his career with ONE HUNDRED pulls and an AP10. Since he has already earned the highest weight pull title, we arent working for points, so he only had to pull 10 times his body weight which is pretty easy for him. He did it in 4 seconds. Lol. Jess will be 10 in February.
Thank you, THANK you to all the judges who pointed to our dogs in the conformation ring, as well as those who judged performance. Thank you club for all of your hard work. As always thanks to my amazing husband who handles the dogs in weight pull and makes everything happen, thank you to Grace for handling River when he and Sylvie were in the ring together, and thank you Cindy and Randy for feeding us and just being the best friends and show buddies.
Weather was fabulous. Hanging with friends and dogs amazing. Camping was fun. It was just a great weekend!
