Some of you folks might find this video satisfying. My first time getting my hands on a new horse, she had a sub solar abscess and the nail placement was blocking the tracks of the abscess creating a ton of pressure. The mare got instant relief when the shoe was pulled to allow draining.

This horse had many up’s and downs in her battle with a severe foundering case that came close to ending her life but were finally out of the woods. While she suffered from coffin bone rotation with diligent daily care from her owner and a good trimming schedule this mare is going around sound again.

Our dry summer has been extra rough on horses already prone to brittle hooves. Luckily with proper trimming those hooves can be brought back to life. Getting some moisture back in this hoof and some regular scheduled trims will have this mare doing much better.
