Good afternoon and happy Tuesday!

Please meet this handsome boy, with a fantastic smile. At 10 and a half years old, Ripley the chocolate lab is this week’s Super Senior!

Ripley came in recently with his brother Sawyer and Dog-mom Jennifer for their annual wellness examinations with Dr. Tamburello. We’re so glad Ripley took time out of his busy schedule to sit and smile for a few treats.

I think this gloomy Saturday deserves a puppy introduction!

Please welcome Oubliette who came in recently (on a sunny day) with his fantastic dog-mom Aria. Nicknamed Oubie (pronounced Oo-Bee) is a 12-week-old German Shepherd with a heart of gold and he's got a lot of pizzazz, too.

As the temperatures remain high today, please don't leave them in the car. Even just a few minutes can be dangerous, especially for older, overweight, or our short-nosed furry friends.

When you leave on your errands today, fill up their water bowl and leave them in a cool place at home.

Otter came in last week to get his HomeAgain microchip, and dog-mom Vanessa caught some of his shenanigans while they waited!

A little about Otter: He’s the absolute sweetest 18-week-old Plott Hound Mix who will say hello to anyone, especially those willing to pet him.

We want to introduce his highness Yogi to our fantastic followers! This fine gentleman is a 2-year-old orange tabby (Yogi looks a little evil in the second picture- but we swear he's not) who came in with his cat-mom Morgan recently.

We’re happy to report that Yogi received an excellent bill of health, too. 😻

Happy Friday! Today we’re introducing you to Baby, our first Super Senior in awhile. At 14 years old, Baby has arthritis that mostly effects her back legs and hinders her ability to go for long walks and play.

Dog-mom Kaitlyn is ever the advocate for her Baby, and in addition to pain control, Kaitlyn has set her up with some wheels that have greatly improved her mobility! Baby recently got out for a walk in her field where she was able to enjoy all of her favorite things!

Way to go, Baby. We’re all cheering you on!

Brother and sister duo Henry (ginger) and Mindy (gray tiger) went on an adventure recently to see us for their annual wellness examinations. Both received a clean bill of health, received some vaccinations and got their nails done!

I love seeing these two together, and they are so photogenic too. 😻

Just in case you needed a smile on this Monday morning, we thought you might like to see Miss Hatti perched on a hay bale! With Summer upon us, and school getting out soon, we hope you're all staying busy and having fun like Hatti.

Hatti is a two-year-old firecracker and is a Jack Russel/Blue Heeler mix. And have you seen those ears?! 😍😍

Please meet Big Alaska, a 12 week old great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd mix who feels softer than velvet and is so stinking sweet! She is the newest addition to a fantastic family, and now has two cat-siblings.

Big Alaska, we cannot wait to see you grow into your name!

Last week alone, NEK Community Animal Hospital performed two quill removals. In some cases, embedded quills can be life-threatening to your pet, as they can migrate over time. So, let’s talk about porcupine safety!

Safety Tips:
- Avoid known porcupine habitats when possible
- Practice strong recall commands with your dog
- Walk your dog on a leash when you know porcupines are around
- Never attempt to remove quills on your own

We all do our best, but sometimes, especially as dog-mom Meghan spoke of her pup (pictured below)- 6-year-old Judy, found herself a spicy snack- that she couldn't resist! Meet Gideon, the Persian! At 13 weeks old, this beautiful and inquisitive little guy came in recently with his cat-mom, Demaris to see Dr. Shawntel Sechrist.

With his first visit done, we cannot wait to see Gideon and Demaris again soon. I wonder how big he’ll be then!
