Hey Hippie Hounds Fam! Incoming Closure Information -

We are having a big remodel done at the shop and will be closed from Tuesday, August 12th - Saturday, August 17th. We reopen at 9 AM on Tuesday, August 20th.

If you are hoping to get in for a self-wash or walk-in nail trim, don't hesitate to come by today or tomorrow! Otherwise we will see you after our project is completed.

We work hard to make improvements to our facilities, and we greatly appreciate your patience while we make necessary updates and upgrades to our shop.

Looking forward to seeing you and your furbaby soon!

*edit* For those curious, we are getting an entirely new self-wash floor put in, an industrial air conditioner installed, AND our parking lot repaved. :)

Hey Hippie Hounds fam!
We just wanted to inform you all that we will be closed July 3rd-July 5th for a Fourth of July break. Our salon will reopen at 9 AM on Saturday, July 6th.
Did you know that many pets go missing during the Fourth of July festivities? Below is a link with some tips to help keep your pets safe during the holiday.
Remember to bring all indoor/outdoor pets inside, and to keep a close eye on your dog when going in your backyard or on walks.

We have been getting some spam/scam in the comments section of our Facebook. Hippie Hounds will NEVER sell T-Shirts or any other item through ANYONE other than our company directly.
Our T-Shirts are available for sale inside of the salon, however we have no online merchandise sales of any kind.
We apologize to all who have been affected and we have taken appropriate reporting steps through Facebook.

Hello Hippie Hounds Fam,

**(Please skip to the end for shop closure information)**

A week ago late Saturday night going into Sunday morning May 12th, at 3:40 A.M., a man walked into our parking lot and chose to violently throw 2 large rocks at our shop.

One of them shattered our middle suite window, and the second dented our front door.

We do not know who this man is. We do believe it was a random act, but we are not afraid of the integrity of the safety of our shop.

Our salon has been operating out of this location for over 8 years now... and in those 8 years we have never experienced this type of vandalism. A couple graffiti tags here and there, maybe some questionable interactions with some wandering folk, but never straight up violence.

Yes, a police report was filed. No, we are not expecting to find this man and "make him pay", nor are we pleading for help to find him. Even if we found him, we don't think it would matter much.

We can only give you the experience of what it is like owning and operating a small business, and it gets harder and harder every year for us in various ways.

Our success as a company has come with plenty of actual blood, sweat and tears over the years. When we opened, we owners continued to work a second job 6 days a week until working just at our business was sustainable.

We were not handed anything. We are not from rich families who gave us everything we wanted. We were broke 20-somethings surviving dramas, traumas and hardships who saved and pinched every penny we had to follow our dreams.

Our point in saying all of this is that small businesses are an integral part of our community, and to all of the small businesses fighting the good fight with us to improve our world, we stand with you.

Our dream was to provide a safe place for you to leave your furbabies, where you can worry a little less about the expertise of those handling your precious pets; to encourage education and foster good relationships within our community.

No vandals will dampen our spirit. The support we've been shown over the years fills our hearts with love, and we thank you all for this support.

Watch over each other. Stay vigilant. Seek help when you need it. Protect the children (furry ones too!), the sick and the elderly. Don't be selfish, always choose kindness and respect. Love above all else.

This Saturday and next Saturday are the last two weekends we are open before the holidays and end of the year. Dearest Hippie Hounds fam,

We have been following closely along with the updates regarding the canine respiratory illness that has been discussed in the news.

Your pets health and safety is always priority number one for us, daily. Instead of living in fear, our chosen focus is on prevention, precaution and education.

Our standards for sanitation have always been strict. Here are some of the ways we will continue to keep your pet safe while in our care:

-Every single pet entering the salon is monitored for signs of the disease, including coughing, sneezing, eye and nasal discharge, and lethargy. We are also verbally confirming with parents that they have not noticed any symptoms.

-Any dogs with any of these symptoms would be quarantined and sent home immediately.

-Pets from different families have never been allowed to interact in our care. We have a "No Friends" policy, meaning your pet will never get more than a few feet away from the next one.

-Every kennel, tub and table is disinfected between dogs with professional grade disinfectants containing virucidal and bactericidal properties.

-Our staff is trained on proper sanitation and monitoring the health of pets in our care.

Having your dog groomed not only makes them look adorable, but they are also healthier after their groom.

Follow your guardian instincts regarding your pets welfare, but be rest assured that we are doing everything possible to minimize the trafficking of illnesses in our salon.

And as a friendly reminder, we are entering the holiday season and grooming appointments will fill quickly. If you cancel your appointment now, we cannot guarantee that your dog will be able to rebooked before January.

If you've got an appointment or are planning on coming to see us this week, listen up! Our main entrance off of 186th PL. SW. is closed this week for city construction. There is an OPEN ENTRANCE just north of this connecting to the same parking lot. The road closure makes our parking lot look closed, but we have 2 driveways/entrances into our complex. Also - We've got full service grooming appointments open all week, so don't hesitate to call and see if we can squeeze you in! Thanks Hippie Hounds fam!

Let's talk about puppy grooming...

Puppies need a series of introductory grooms to make them comfortable with the grooming process. ✂️ While some puppies are ultimate champions🏆like this little guy Ozzy (a 6 month old Westie), most will usually need multiple partial grooms before being able to get their first full haircut. 💈
Always treat puppies with kindness and gentle understanding patience. It's all about trust! ❤️ Between positive experiences with their groomer 🍪 and desensitization training at home, you can set your puppy up for lifelong success and stress-free grooms from the beginning. 💪

Hey Hippie Hounds Fam!
We just got word that there's potentially a rumor spreading around online that we are closing our business.
We just want to clarify that this is NOT true! There's been some expansion construction projects we had to temporarily close for, and we are taking extra time off this week after Easter to give our staff some rest and family time.
These rumors can be detrimental to our business and if anyone has any information as to where they started, please let us know so we can correct it.
Your pets are special to us and we are passionate about the work we do. We are nowhere near ready to call it quits!
