To punctuate just how dreadful the pet overpopulation problem in Southern CA is, GSROC has been inundated with beautiful, sweet puppies. They are being abandoned in record numbers--in boxes outside of shelters, tied up outside of retailers (like our Mia), turned in by breeders who can't sell them. In our 25 years of rescuing, the situation has never been so dire for German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois.

One tiny victim of the overpopulation crisis is Rain, abandoned with her 2 siblings in the recent storms. The puppies were soaking wet when they were found. Fortunately, Rain and her siblings were brought to GSROC by a kind animal lover, and they are ready to find forever families. At 14 weeks, Rain is a small shepherd pup with a great love of life! She is happy and playful and mischievous, as all young puppies are. She would love to have a family that will treasure her! Will you please share Rain's story with fellow animal lovers? She is positively precious!

UPDATE 11/29 --- RESCUED by private party! Thank you for sharing!

We have no space to assist her, but we are posting in the hope that someone can save her. She is a female who was abandoned at a home when her family moved away. The male dog that she was with was killed by coyotes, leaving this girl all alone. This girl is located in LaHabra, CA.

If you can assist in any way, please contact her advocate at 714-928-5843. Please do not contact GSROC --- we have no additional information about her age, health or temperament. We only know that she needs someone to rescue her before she perishes. Share widely in hope that a foster can be found.

Update, lots of calls for Thor!

This is the 4th posting for this sweet boy... I cannot believe he is still in need of a loving home. Please consider this sweet boy.

SWEET GSD, THOR IS STILL IN NEED OF A FOREVER HOME...

Poor Thor has been let down by so many humans, it is absolutely heartbreaking... he does not deserve this, no dog or animal does.
Thor's owner's new landlord would not allow dogs and forced them to give him up along with his other, fur brothers and sisters, they had him since he was a puppy and was the only family he ever knew...he does not know what happened or what he did to deserve this, so now he is in need of a loving forever home.

Thor is approx. 5 years old, weighs 55lbs, housetrained, walks great on a leash, good with cats, dogs, kids and all people and knows some commands. He LOVES to be brushed and bathed! He is happy to jump in a tub or walk-in shower for an in home shower... he LOVES it!! His fur is so soft and silky.. he will need someone that is interested in brushing him. He also loves to take daily walks, go for car rides and loves adventures! This sweet boy likes to be with his person, so he would be best in a home where his person is not gone. 8 hours a day. He is also content to be by his person or family side while working on the computer or watching TV. He is a very calm, sweet boy with an old soul. He takes treats gently. He would also really LOVE to be in a home with a dog (or more) that loves to run and play, and a yard to play in. He is accustom to living with multiple dogs and cats and is missing having them for company and companionship.
