Luna and Ransom are the super stars on our farm. They are very welcoming of new horses and they just love it when their herd gets bigger. Being chosen to adopt them was a blessing… they bring so much joy, especially to us.

Luna is our grey flee bitten mare. She loves to interact with people and wants the attention to be on her. She’s very easy going and if there’s trouble, she runs away from it. She loves a large herd and is the most gentle mustang I’ve ever met. She’s also great with kids and very protective of her human.

Ransom is our dun mare. She’s got a powerful personality and loves to run. She’s very particular with who she interacts with, but she’s very respectful and loves new horses. A really great trait about Ransom is that she does not tolerate bullies. If a fight breaks out, she runs over and breaks it up.

Things just got a whole lot easier at Lynn’s Meadow and Skye Ranch!

Jr. built us a couple of silos that stores our favourite barn feed, also made by Jr., and we are so excited about this!

We don’t have to worry about rust, moisture getting in the feed, and we can move the silos! A single silo holds almost 4,000 pounds of feed and it suits the size of our ranches.

Decided to check on some of the eggs our broody tucked under her and it looks like we’ve got 10-12 eggs under her, including two turkey eggs! Some eggs are further along and should be hatching in the next week or two. 😍 excited to see the littles we’ll have.

Very grateful for amazing neighbours! Carl has been exposed to more people and we’ve got lots of interaction going on. Red is Carl’s favourite human and as of now and the only person allowed to pet him all over.

The rest of us can get some pets in, but Carl prefers Red by far. When Carl sees Red, he comes running up from the hay field and he jumps and kicks out with excitement. There’s not an ounce of aggression with Carl and he’s one of the sweetest llamas. 🦙

Loving the eggs our girls have been laying ♥️

Our pasture-raised eggs come from pasture raised hens that roam freely on 15 acres. Because of this, the eggs at Lynn’s Meadow has an enhanced flavor compared to the eggs bought in store.

Hens that spend time outdoors were found to have 3 times the vitamin D3 compared to eggs from hens that do not have access to the outdoors.

In addition to this, pasture raised eggs have less saturated fat, increased vitamins A, E, and D, more Omega-3 fatty acids, and more beta carotene.

We set up a petting zoo today at a church, and this girl said she was tired and wanted to take a quick nap 😴 She eventually crawled in my lap and stayed there watching everyone.

Ransom and Luna will officially start their training on Saturday 😍 We’re so excited to get these girls under saddle. It might take a minute before we can ride them, but these girls have proven how smart and gentle they are.

What a beautiful day today! We had an early lesson at Skye Ranch and some little got to run around. In addition, our dog Abby took a swim in the pond to beat this Texas heat!

Mother’s Day wasn’t my favourite day this year as I knew I had to say goodbye to my beloved senior horse, Peppy. I promised him a good home and retirement and that I did. He spent the last bit of his time with his sister Goldie, adopted brother Lt. Dan l, and his annoying little shadow, Roscoe the donkey. I wish I never had to say goodbye but I know you’re out in a green field running like the wind with Gunnar and your furry friends Brandy, Lincoln, and Daisy Duke. My heart hurts more as you too have taken a piece of it. Rest easy Old Man. I love you.
