🆘 We have a 911 urgent request. This cat that is pictured named TYSON needs a home immediately. He has been waiting for a very long time in a cage and we cannot keep him there any longer. We do not have the space to keep him separate. For those who will cast judgement, we do all that we can to keep cats OUT of cages but sometimes there is no other choice and we are working overtime to find this cat a home.

TYSON is leukemia positive which means he cannot be with other non-leukemia positive cats. Most people that want to help cats, already have cats and that won’t work in this situation. We must get this gentle soul into a loving home immediately. He is approximately 2-3 years and in excellent health. He has a very sad past having been found abandoned and starved. He’s been rescued but now is in dire need of a real home.

TYSON is a loving, sweet cat who deserves a chance. PLEASE help us place this cat. We cannot make him wait any longer. We have posted & posted him with not one single person interested or willing to adopt him.

The New Year is just a few days away! Here are our top pet safety tips so you can welcome in 2024 as safely as pawsible:

-Keep all pets indoors
-Make sure pets have an ID and are chipped
-Keep human food and alcohol away from your pet, and relay to any guests of this as well
-Keep your pet in a cozy area with music or a TV on. These sounds help to drown out any party noises and/or fireworks.

Arthritis is extremely common in pets, especially as they age. Signs of arthritis in pets include (but are not limited to):

-Stiff or swollen joints
-Difficulty standing from a lying position
-Difficulty going upstairs or jumping
-Reduced muscle volume in the rear limbs

We have SO MANY wonderful dogs available for adoption!! We adore them all, but we want YOU to fall in love and bring one of these babies home!

In order to make room for the shelter to continue helping dogs in need from our community, HSWC is holding our biggest dog adoption event ever!

From now until the end of November! (during our regular shelter hours)

No appointment necessary!

What are the dog adoption fees during this event?:
Pay the date!
On November 28th, all dog adoption fees will be $28. On the 29th, all dog adoption fees will be $29. You get the idea!

* Veterans - adopt a dog with no adoption fee during this event!

* Note: our normal adoption requirements apply - we want to make sure you and the dog you choose are a good match, so you can live happily ever after together!

November is , and we wanted to bring awareness to some early onset signs to remain vigilant of:

-Excessive drinking
-Increased urination
-Weight loss
-Appetite changes
-Cloudy eyes
-Chronic or recurring infections, especially skin and urinary infections
