I will not say where the cape come from because things happen to all us and it has nothing to do with the customer that wants their deer mounted but I want to show everyone a picture so customers understand what taxidermist deal with at times. The customer has no idea what their deer is going to look like after they drop it off at a processing place once they ask to have their deer caped for a shoulder / pedestal mount. The deer gets caped and is usually then froze. The taxidermist gets the deer a few days later from the customer and lets it thaw enough so he can cape it off the head..The taxidermist gets the whole entire cape which is way better than someone cutting it short and then not having enough cape but the taxidermist doesn’t need 4 foot of brisket and belly with no armpits…

Sorry for short notice but the shop will be closed the rest of evening tonight until tomorrow evening and possibly up to Saturday evening. If your calling about bringing a deer, dropping a deer off or needing one caped out for transport and I don’t answer just leave me a message or text me and I will get back to you asap. I will let you know a time tomorrow evening that I can meet with you. I’m getting closer and closer each day to what I’m going to be taking in this year…Im still taking deer in currently but if it keeps at this pace I’m not sure what I will be taking in for gun season. I appreciate everyone’s business and feel horrible when that first person calls and I say I’m sorry but if I take in what I did the for 2022 and 2023 season I would never get caught up to where I need to be…I’ve realized sometimes you just have to say sorry I can’t take anymore.

Well I think I was way more excited than she was but my wife got it done this evening on her second time out hunting ..I couldn’t be any more prouder watching and videoing this perfect shot on her first deer ever. Congrats Mindy and I can’t wait till the next hunt!!

Tomorrow is the day!! Good luck to everyone and be safe…Due to a few set backs this year I will only be taking in 50 deer this year..and yes I’m actually stopping at that number no matter what. If I fill up quick I will point you in the right direction..If no issues I hope to have everyone’s prior deer back to them by gun season. 7 more will be going to their home this week.

What an awesome buck I was blessed to mount. I finished him up this morning so the blessed hunter can take him home later today and proudly display this stud of a deer!
