38 years ago today, I was in the hospital trying not to have this baby girl. Finally had to send Mike down the hall to get Dr. Jule Neal out of his meeting because Shannon was not gonna wait any longer! My 3lb 7oz partner in crime was determined. And, I know Merrie was glad because for the two weeks in bed before that, she had brought me food up those stairs. Shannon was strong from the start and so sweet. She hasn’t changed at all. Still so sweet and empathetic toward everyone but also strong as a bull! And, a natural rider… yes, she has the only unanimous National trophy between the two of us! Too much to say about her… she’s my baby, my heart, and definitely my partner in crime! ❤️

Edith, Miss Ginny and Me… reunited ! Sitting on the back porch, flowers, garden and a breeze. Thought I knew everything but learned more today! “Black, white, grey or green… you are welcome at my table.” Had no idea that Edith knew my grandfather. ❤️❤️❤️

Julio Jones Kaplan killed in a horrific mauling by a Pit Bull yesterday. The dogs owner had absolutely no control but had allowed him to roam freely. I understand the Pit Bull but don’t understand his owners. I will never understand why they didn’t keep him confined. Poor little Julio never had one speck of a chance of surviving that attack. I didn’t even recognize my own dog until I got down on my knees in that ditch to see it really was what was left of our precious and so loved little dog. 💔

I really wanted to ride this one but seeing her fear over and over during training, I think I’m gonna have to stop. It’s a shame because she extremely smart and a quick learner. I don’t know exactly what happened to her but she has had too much trauma. She is an incredible horse. Too bad someone did all the wrong things with her. Makes me mad! 🤬
