18 Years of Paws, Purrs, and Puppy Dog Eyes!

While the fireworks may have fizzled out, we’re still poppin’ off over here because… 🥁… our hospital just turned 18 YEARS OLD! That’s 126 in dog years, but who’s counting? 😉

From tiny toe beans 🐾 to wagging tails and the occasional sassy hiss 😼, we’ve loved every single moment of caring for your furry (and not-so-furry) family members.

We couldn’t have made it this far without our amazing team, our dedicated doctors, and YOU — our loyal pet parents who trust us with the creatures you love most.

Thank you for letting us be part of your pets' lives for the past 18 years. Here’s to many more years of snuggles, wet noses, and happy tails! 💙🐶🐱🐰🐹

Drop a pic of your pet below to help us celebrate — we love a good paw-ty! 🎂🐾

🌟 Happy Veterinary Receptionist Week! 🌟

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on the incredible individuals who are the heart of our clinic — our veterinary receptionists! 💚🐾

From the moment you call us or walk through the door, they’re the friendly faces and calm voices that guide you through it all — scheduling appointments, comforting worried pet parents, juggling a million tasks, and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

We truly couldn’t do what we do without their dedication, compassion, and hard work. They’re the glue that holds the team together, and we’re beyond grateful for everything they do every single day. 🙌✨

If you’re stopping by this week, be sure to give our amazing receptionists a big THANK YOU — they’ve earned it (and then some)!

🐾 Healthy Habits, Healthy Cats 🐾

Did you know that all cats have basic environmental needs? 🐱 In fact, many behavioral issues arise when cats are unable to perform their natural behaviors, like hunting, grooming, roaming, sleeping, eating, and resting. It's important to create an environment that caters to your cat's unique personality. Here are some tips to make sure you're meeting your cat’s essential needs:

🛏 A Safe Place
Cats need a secure place to hide and feel safe. Provide vertical spaces like shelves or cat trees, and create hiding spots with boxes or cat condos. Active cats will love exploring in a safe outdoor space like a catio or on a harness and leash!

🍽 Multiple & Separate Resources
Ensure your cat has individual access to food, water, scratching posts, litter boxes, and resting areas. In multi-cat households, each cat needs their own resources, with enough space and separate entrances to avoid conflict.

🤲 Positive & Predictable Interactions
Cats thrive on shorter, frequent interactions rather than long sessions. Use treats for positive reinforcement and ensure your interactions are calm. Respect their need for solitude, and give them the choice to be close without contact when they prefer.

🐾 Play & Predatory Behaviors
Hunting is instinctual for cats, so encourage these behaviors by using interactive puzzle feeders or hiding kibble around the house for foraging. Play sessions should be uninterrupted and allow your cat to "complete the hunt," including capturing and eating the treat to replicate their natural prey behavior.

👃 Respecting Their Sense of Smell
Cats' sense of smell is 12x stronger than ours! Keep food bowls clean, avoid strong cleaners or scented litter, and clean litter boxes regularly to respect their nose. Provide scratching opportunities to help them feel secure and mark their territory.

🍽 Individual Nutritional Needs
Every cat has unique nutritional needs. Ensure you’re feeding your cat in a quiet, uninterrupted area, provide multiple feeding locations if necessary, and maintain a consistent feeding routine. Always consult with your vet to make sure your cat’s diet is tailored to their specific health needs.

By meeting these basic environmental needs, you can ensure your cat lives a healthy, happy life. 🐱💚
