Herbal Medicine 101
Herbal Tinctures are alcohol or Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) based preparations that are traditionally used for preserving and taking herbal remedies. All the healthy benefits from the herb are transferred to the alcohol or ACV. Before using any natural products, ensure your own personal research has been conducted before determining if this is a safe herbal product for health.
At the Ranch, we create our own tinctures from the herbs we grow on the farm. The possibilities are endless!

Echinacea tincture is an herbal supplement which can be used as treatment for the common cold, herpes simplex infection (topical), immunostimulant, psoriasis (topical), upper respiratory tract infections (viral), urinary tract infections, vaginal yeast infection, skin wounds (topical), and for skin ulcers (topical).
Echinacea products appear to be safe and well-tolerated for short-term use.
There have been cases where people experienced side effects, such as:
Rashes
Itchy skin
Hives
Swelling
Stomach pain
Nausea
Shortness of breath
However, these side effects are more common among people with allergies to other flowers, such as daisies, chrysanthemums, marigolds, ragweed and more.
As echinacea appears to stimulate the immune system, people with autoimmune disorders or people taking immunosuppressive drugs should avoid it or consult their doctors first.
While it appears to be safe for short-term use, its long-term effects are still relatively unknown.
