Dear Community,

We appreciate your concerns regarding our recent call for fosters. Like many shelters and rescues, we face challenges in this tough economic climate. Our small team—two full-time and one part-time employee—along with volunteers and volunteer board members who assist when they can, works tirelessly to support the community.

To help, we ask those seeking assistance to foster the animals they bring until adoption. This includes keeping up with scheduled vaccines, spay/neuter appointments, and ensuring the animals are healthy and friendly. Unfortunately, some have not complied, and some have even verbally attacked our staff and threatened to abandon animals, causing further strain on our resources.

We understand frustrations but must emphasize that fostering is essential to our ability to help. We recognize our flaws and are actively working to improve.

To those actively fostering, thank you. Your dedication is invaluable, and we haven’t forgotten you. Slower adoptions mean longer wait times, but we’re committed to supporting you and finding these animals their forever homes.

Join us this Saturday, August 3rd, from 8am to 11am for our low-cost vaccine clinic! 🐾

Important Reminder: It's going to be a hot day, so please ensure your pets stay safe and cool while waiting in line. If you’re transporting your pets, avoid placing them in the back of your vehicle unless they have proper shade and ventilation. Our parking lot has some solar panels for shade, but there will be times when your vehicle might be exposed to the sun.

Safety First: Due to the excessive heat warning, we may need to close the clinic early to ensure the well-being of our volunteers and your pets.

We are excited to help our community keep your pets safe!

Help! We have a litter of 5 in foster that need to be split up. They are about 3 months old and anywhere between 4-6 lbs currently. We are hoping to move 2-3 into a new foster home to help lessen the load for the current foster. We believe they are Dachshund mix based on what momma looks like. CALLING ALL FOSTERS CURRENT AND NON-CURRENT!

We have a large vet run tomorrow, 30 crates are needed. Our crate holding area seems a little scarce, if you have any of our crates please try to get them to our office by 3:00 pm today so that we can have them cleaned and ready for the tomorrow.

Hello, we need some assistance, we have a Doxie mix located at Peninsula Humane Society located in San Mateo. We were able to find a foster for this old guy but now we need someone to transport to us. Mileage will be paid in a timely manner after the mileage is turned into us. Our Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic is happening now from 8am to 11am! 1604 Sunrise Ave, Madera. The line is currently short so come on down now to get your vaccines. We offer DHPP, FVRCP, and Rabies for $15 each as well as deworming for $5 and microchips for $20.

Please remember, it's going to be a hot one today so if you are transporting your animals in the back of your vehicles, please make sure you have a way to keep them comfortable in this heat. Can't wait to see you here!

We have two important updates to share: the price of Rabies vaccines has increased to $15. Additionally, to better serve our community and surrounding areas, we have extended our clinic hours by 1 hour. We will now be open from 8am to 11am. We look forward to seeing you there!

As we celebrate this 4th of July, let's not forget about the safety of our beloved pets. Even if you think your pet is immune to the noise and excitement, it's always better to be safe than sorry. So many animals go missing during this holiday, and we want everyone to have a safe and happy celebration.

Here are some great tips to keep your pets safe:

Create a Safe Space: Ensure your pet has a quiet, secure place to retreat to when the fireworks start.

Keep Them Indoors: It's safer to keep your pets inside to prevent them from running away in fear.

Use Identification: Make sure your pets have updated ID tags and are microchipped in case they do get lost.

Stay Calm: Your pets can pick up on your anxiety. Stay calm and provide comfort.

🐾 Important Announcement: Temporary Suspension of Cat/Kitten Evaluations 🐾

Dear Friends,

We want to let you know that we are temporarily closing our cat/kitten evaluations until further notice. Our program is currently full, and we need to focus on finding forever homes for the animals already in our care.

We understand that there are still many cats and kittens in need, and we deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause. We promise to keep you updated and let you know as soon as we can start accepting more animals again.
