Who would you adopt? That’s the most common question we get asked working at the shelter. As animal lovers, we have too many to take home. Well today on Who would you adopt Wednesday. We have our boy FULANO😎. This guy right here is the most popular dog among our staff members. If we could, we would adopt him! But we already have too many 🥲 but let me tell you about Fulano. Yes he is your typical pitty. He loves to jump, play, has a small case of the zoomies and is a very handsome guy😍. When you have one of those days when work and life has you down. Look at this giant smile. Fulano would brighten up your day, he would lift up his paw and stare at you with his big ol eyes that just say “it’s going to be okay”. Fulano is here today to show case what an amazing dog he is. We love him so much and just want him to find a good home. ❤️ If you want to learn more about him. Call us Monday - Friday and ask for Lizet his shelter mommy. Clear the shelter week still continues. Help us find our beloved shelter dog his forever home.

Save the date! Super Adoption is happening this Saturday, August 24, at Valley Animal Center from 8am-1pm. Join us for pet adoptions, food and shopping vendors, & nonprofit organizations! There will be different rescues joining the event, with tons of animals looking for new homes. We can’t wait to see you there!

Thank you, Hope Animal Foundation, for giving us more spots! We tried our best to get more spots available for the community. As of today, we have 19 more spay and neuter vouchers. They are first-come, first-serve. Must bring your dog in to get weighed before purchasing a voucher. Only two vouchers per household. Dogs must be on a leash with a collar and cats must be brought in carriers or a cat box. Cash or card only! Stop by Mon-Fri 10am-4pm. Call us ahead of time to verify if we still have spots!

Does your child enjoy reading or love animals? A great way to combine the two is with our Reading to Critters Program. Must be under the age of 16, parent must be present, and you must love animals! We offer this program as a great way of enrichment not only for your child, but also the animal. Meet Dodge, a resilient and charming orange tabby who’s just emerged from a remarkable adventure. After spending three unexpected days trapped in a truck, Dodge is now safe and ready to find his furever home. Despite the ordeal, including a minor injury where his ear was burned, Dodge’s spirit remains unbroken. His striking orange coat and soulful eyes are a testament to his strength and charm. Dodge is eager to bring joy and warmth to a new home.

This week in adoptions! We had to say goodbye to some of our longest term residents, which makes us both sad and happy! We’re so glad these cuties were able to find their new homes. We still have plenty of animals at the shelter who need homes or fosters. Please contact us if you’re interested in any of our other animal’s.

Office hours include licensing, questions about our TNR, our low cost S/N program and any questions for our officers. If we are not open, we ask that you please hold on to any strays. For emergencies contact the Sheriff’s Department at (559) 675-7770. You must hold on to strays until we open.

For sick or injured animals in the County, please contact our office Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm at (559) 675-7891. After hours or on the weekends. You must call the Sheriff’s office at (559) 675-7770. We are not a 24 hour agency. Please contact these numbers before you bring in sick or injured animals when we are closed.

These dogs are just some of the few that have been at our shelter for over 30 days! Most animals get extremely stressed in shelter settings so time is very crucial. These cute and adorable doggies are definitely staff and volunteer favorites who deserve a second chance at landing homes this summer! 🌴🌊
