Impulse control!
Does your dog have it?

Do you have goals for your dog in 2025?
Maybe it's spending more time out and about at coffee shops, improving loose leash walking, or building the ultimate running or hiking buddy
Maybe you're aiming to compete in sports like agility, dock diving, or PSA, or you're working toward earning your Canine Good Citizen certification.
Or maybe you're focused on managing your dog’s reactivity toward other dogs or people and envisioning calm, safe walks where you can pass others without stress.
Wherever you are in your journey with your dog, you’re exactly where you need to be. Make your dog (AND yourself) a priority this year.
And for all the reactive dog owners out there, remember to take care of YOUR mental health, too. If it’s 5 p.m. and you know it’s busy outside, don’t feel guilty leaving your dog home if it’s better for their comfort. You can always find another way or time to meet their needs. We can only care for our dogs when we’re also caring for ourselves. 🐾🐶✨
Happy New Year! 🎉
Working through triggers with your dog!
Monty here has some strong dog reactivity, but we’ve found a way to make passing other dogs easier. By using a marker cue (“yes”) and rewarding with treats, Monty knows his job is to look up at me, redirecting his focus and reducing his frustration. This is just one technique that’s helped us manage his reactivity! Struggling with distractions or reactivity with your dog? Get in touch and let's start working together! 🐶🐾

What a quick training session looks like with Nya. And yes a HUGE part of it is PLAY!
.
Training should be fun for you and your dog! My sessions with Nya look different than my sessions with Monty because they are motivated by different things, but having fun, laughing, making mistakes and most importantly spending quality time with them is part of every session. 🐶✨
