New veterinary clinic for dogs and cats on Madison's West side! We will continue to strive everyday to provide the best care and service we can give.

Faircrest Veterinary Care is a full service clinic for cats and dogs, started by Dr. Mason Oakes. Dr. Mason has been practicing in Madison for the past 8 years, including 5 years at Lakeview Veterinary Clinic on the west side of town. It is our mission to treat every pet and client with respect, provide compassionate and top-level medical care, and educate owners about their pet's healthcare. Our

services include: preventive care and wellness, treatment of medical emergencies, surgical services, dental care (including digital dental radiography), digital radiography and ultrasound, and in-house and specialty laboratory testing.

🎉 Welcome, Dr. Britta! 🐾

We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Britta to the Faircrest Veterinary Care team!

A Madison native and proud graduate of the UW School of Veterinary Medicine (Class of 2013), Dr. Britta brings over a decade of experience as a dedicated small animal veterinarian. She joined our team in July 2025 and has already made a wonderful impression with her compassionate care and love for both pets and their people.

Dr. Britta enjoys the variety that general practice brings and is passionate about building lasting relationships with the families she serves.

Spring is here! And with that comes a warning about Leptospirosis, a disease caused by infection with Leptospira bacteria.

All dogs are at risk of leptospirosis, regardless of age, breed, lifestyle, geographic location, time of year, and other factors. The following situations can increase that risk:

➡Exposure to or drinking from slow-moving or stagnant water sources, like ponds, rivers, lakes, or streams
➡ Roaming on rural properties (because of exposure to potentially infected wildlife or farm animals or urine-contaminated water sources)
➡ Exposure to wild animals (especially rodents) or farm animals, even if in the backyard
➡ Contact with other dogs (such as in urban areas, dog parks, or boarding or training facilities)
