When the temperatures drop, it's important to take steps to ensure your dogs and cats stay safe and warm! Prolonged exposure to cold weather can lead to hypothermia and frostbite in pets, especially those that are very young, old, ill; or have short or thin coats. To keep your furry friends 🐶 🐱 comfortable during the winter months, provide them with a warm, draft-free shelter out of the wind and cold. Use a dog house or shelter that is large enough for your pet to sit and lie down comfortably but small enough to retain their body heat. Line it with straw, blankets, or pet-safe heated mats for added warmth. When taking dogs outside, consider putting them in a warm sweater or coat and booties to protect their paws from ice, snow, and cold surfaces. Keep outdoor excursions brief on very cold days. For indoor cats, place their bed in a warm spot away from drafts and provide plenty of cozy blankets. By taking some simple precautions, you can help your beloved dogs and cats stay safe and snug all winter long. ❤️⛄️
