Most people think good socialization is allowing their dog to meet every person and dog they see. However, the best socialization is allowing your dog to interact with people and dogs that you trust so you can ensure it's a good experience for them. It is also important to have moments of rewarding engagement with you and teaching them to be neutral around distractions. Doing so will build confidence and make training easier.

Stay positive! Training is meant to be enjoyable for both you and your dog. This doesn't mean that everything is going to go as planned and you won't have challenges, but mindset is everything. Remember that you are a team and your dog will feed off of your energy and body language.
