Fionas Story 💕
From the very beginning, Fiona showed us just how strong and gentle she is. After being hit by a car, she was brought to Urgivet of Madison, where extensive efforts were made to locate her owners. After consultations with multiple medical professionals, we came to a difficult but clear conclusion, that Fiona will likely be paralyzed for the remainder of her life and will rely on a wheelchair for mobility. While that reality was heavy, what followed has been nothing short of incredible.
Though Fiona hasn’t found her forever family just yet, we were blessed with a true Christmas miracle. Christina Segura with Safe Haven Rescue of Mississippi selflessly stepped up to care for Fiona through the holidays before she continues her journey north to Perfect Imperfections Rescue, a rescue and sanctuary dedicated to rehabilitating and rehoming dogs with disabilities. Christina, thank you!! Your willingness to help, especially during the holidays, means more than words can say. Because of you, Fiona is one step closer to the beautiful life she deserves. Saying goodbye was bittersweet, but our hearts are full knowing she’s headed somewhere safe, experienced, and ready to help her. Thank you Perfect Imperfections for taking this angel.
We are endlessly grateful to everyone who offered supplies, prayers, encouragement, thoughtful messages, and well wishes. Thank you especially to those who donated toward Fiona’s care. Every act of kindness made a difference and helped carry her through this journey. A special thank you for the wheelchairs Fiona has been using, and a huge shout out to Brian Hughes and Beth Williamson for helping give Fiona the freedom to move, explore, and run as fast as she wanted. Your generosity and support truly helped change her life.
We also want to extend our deepest thanks to Urgivet of Madison and Mannsdale Animal Clinic for their compassionate, dedicated care throughout every step of Fiona’s journey. The planning, coordination, and unwavering encouragement for her life never went unnoticed. We are so grateful for all you do for animals like Fiona every single day.
Thank you as well to the Madison Police Department and Madison Animal Control for their continued efforts and support when it was needed the most.
This girl has already overcome so much, and with the incredible people and rescues standing behind her, we know her future will be a beautiful one. Thank you all for being part of Fiona’s journey, it truly takes a village, and she has felt every ounce of love.
