🐾 **Help Us Get a New Autoclave for Wisconsin Community Veterinary Center!**
Hey, awesome animal lovers!
Our trusty autoclave has worked hard over the years, but it’s finally taken its last bow. To keep our furry friends safe and healthy during surgeries, we need your help to get a brand-new autoclave!
Why is this important? An autoclave sterilizes our instruments, making sure no infections sneak into our surgeries. A new one costs $6,000, and we know with your amazing support, we can reach this goal!
Every little bit helps! Whether you can donate $5, $50, or $500, your contribution will make a HUGE difference in keeping our community’s pets safe.

Meet Rudy!
Rudy presented to the clinic with two broken legs after an accidental injury.
Our team on site was able to do surgery for Rudy and was able to apply plates in his legs.
Rudy's Story is unique and we would love to share a little of his journey so far from his parents.
"My boyfriend and I adopted Rudy on January 20, 2024 from Little Buddies Rescue in Mukwonago, WI. They had rescued him from a horrible puppy mill only a few weeks before that. He came to us very shy, not used to receiving love from other people, and malnourished. With lots of love and care, we have been able to turn him into the joyful, playful, and happy boy that we, as well as your staff, see today.
With his injury, we’ve had to find a new way to take him on walks, so we bought a dog stroller so he can still get that fresh air he enjoys so much. He is a huge cuddler and absolutely loves to sleep on someone’s chest." -Rudy's Mom and Dad :]
We love seeing Rudy for his weekly bandage changes, can't wait to see his full recovery!
Through generous donations of an anonymous individual and Purina, our pet food pantry has food and supplies. If you need food or supplies for your pet, please visit our clinic.
Who goes there?..
Its Tyr!
This little knight has been through alot these past few months.
Stay tuned for his story soon.
Goose Does Physical Therapy
Hi Friends! I'm Goose, an 8-month-old Bulldog mixed with very-very-good-boy and a dash of wiggle-butt. I am one of 6 medical cases that Shelter From The Storm has taken on in the past two months! I was transferred from our good friends at Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) and, with help from the amazing vets of University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, I got surgery to fix my broken leg. I'm getting better every day!
Watch me and my tech pal, Courtney, do my physical therapy together! It's a wild time. I will be with the caring staff at WCVC for a bit as I work to get my leg stronger. Can you help the team at SFTS with the costs of my care?
If you would like to donate toward my care, please follow this link:
https://www.paypal.com/donate?campaign_id=CYHACSDSKTPKU
If you are not in a place to donate, kindly share my story!
Thank you to our amazing SFTS family for always pulling together and allowing us to help homeless pets with the biggest needs. Please check back for updates on Goose's progress!
What is it?! A spider? A fuzzy dog? No, it's Luna! Our very own Shelter From the Storm alumni all ready for spooky season - dressed up as a spooky spider!
What are ear mites?
Ear mites feed off of ear wax and skin oil and can be found in the ear or on the skin of cats, dogs, and other animals. Being highly contagious, ear mites can be passed easily to another animal through direct contact.
Being barely visible to the naked eye, they can be hard to spot. So here are some ways to tell if your pet may have ear mites:
-Constant scratching or rubbing at the ears
-Head shaking due to ear irritation
-Crusty or dark waxy secretions from the ear
-Hair loss from excessive scratching/ grooming
-Ear inflammation (redness/ hot to the touch)
-Scabs or rashes around the ear
-Strong odor coming from the ears
If your pet has ear mites, you should take them to the vet to get treated. Ear mites usually require only a prescription, though if there is other damage more treatment might be necessary.

Happy 4th of July! We hope you and your pets are having a fun and safe time this weekend!
Did you know that neutered male feral cats are less likely to be injured and spread diseases to other feral cats? When male feral cats fight each other to find mates, they can spread diseases through bite wounds.
Feral cats can be dropped off at the Spay Me! Clinic on Monday-Wednesday 8am-12pm without an appointment. Our outdoor package includes rabies vaccine (for cats 12 weeks & up), one application of flea and ear mite prevention, and an ear tip.
