🇺🇸🐾 Remembering 9/11 🐾🇺🇸

Today, as we honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, we also pause to recognize the incredible four-legged heroes who worked tirelessly in the aftermath.

Search-and-rescue dogs like Riley, a Golden Retriever, and Trakr, a German Shepherd, braved the rubble at Ground Zero, using their extraordinary noses and loyal hearts to search for survivors. These dogs brought hope and comfort in humanity’s darkest hours—not only to those they helped find, but also to the first responders who found strength in their presence.

Their bravery reminds us of the unbreakable bond between humans and animals, and how even in tragedy, love and courage shine through. 💙🐾

We will never forget.

⚠🚧 Food Safety Alert: Think Before You Eat It Raw!
A recent report from FoodSafetyNews.com highlights a serious concern: in a French wild mushroom poisoning incident, 55 meals included raw mushrooms, a practice that was strongly discouraged, leading to several severe illnesses.

This isn’t an isolated case—raw foods like unpasteurized milk, raw eggs, undercooked meats, and raw meat diets for pets consistently carry heightened risks of contamination by harmful bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli, Campylobacter, and Listeria.

🐾 Did you know? Both the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) strongly discourage feeding raw diets to pets because of these very food safety concerns—for both animals and the people who handle their food.

While certain raw foods might seem “healthier” or more “natural,” they can expose you and your pets to serious illness if not properly handled or cooked.

It's probably no surprise, but smoking or va**ng around pets, especially rabbits, is a VERY bad idea.

Rabbits are very sensitive to strong smells. Smoke, va**ng, and strong scents such as incense and aerosol sprays, are extremely harmful to a rabbit's delicate respiratory system. Even if you can't smell it, they can smell it. But, if you can smell it, they can REALLY smell it. Ever been in public near someone who loaded up on way too much perfume? Think that, except it's overpowering, every day, in your home. Yikes!

We advocate for non-smoking, non-va**ng homes, as there are multiple examples of rabbits becoming ill with respiratory issues due to va**ng / smoking, even to the point of death...something so easily avoided. Please rethink having a rabbit in your home if this is a deal-breaker for you. We want the best for rabbits; they deserve nothing less! ♥
