We had the privilege to spay/neuter 20 animals earlier this week during our high-volume, low-cost community outreach event.

🐾 Thank you to Dr. Newcomb and Emily of Ivy Tech Madison's Veterinary Nursing program for lending us surgical instrument packs and their personal assistance.

🐾 Thank you to Dr. Hrunek and the team at UCAN Nonprofit Spay/Neuter Clinic for allowing us to observe them last month to help inform our process.

🐾 Thank you to the WAC team for gearing up and showing out for something beyond our typical general practice day.

🐾 And thank you to all the pet owners who entrusted us with their animal's care. 🐶🐱

We're organizing a low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter day for dogs and cats! This is a community outreach event to help those in need gain access to this important service.

Pricing for November 10th:
- Male cats: $90
- Female cats: $115
- Male dogs: $130-150 (based on weight)
- Female dogs: $150-170 (based on weight)

Indiana residents who receive government assistance or fall below a specified household income may be eligible to receive a spay/neuter voucher for just $50 through Pet Friendly Services of Indiana.

Did you know... 19% of our local patients tested positive for a tickborne disease last year? Lyme and Ehrlichia are the most common with a few Anaplasmosis as well.
A reminder to give your pets their flea/tick medication on time, year round for best prevention paired with an annual wellness visit with your vet.
(While you're at it... give yourself a tick check too!)

We are excited to announce Dr. Jerry Suddeth has joined our practice in a long-term relief capacity! With his arrival, we are able to increase our appointment and surgery availability, hopefully making scheduling veterinary visits more convenient and accessible for you. If your pet has fallen behind on wellness care, now is a great time catch up. We would love to introduce you to our newest team member.

Dr. Suddeth is a graduate of Hanover College and Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He is a Louisville native and currently resides in Crestwood, KY, with his young family and BIG dogs. He is passionate about providing quality veterinary medicine and possesses additional skills such as exotic care, ultrasonography and orthopedics which we hope to incorporate into our offerings for the community.

We appreciate the support you've shown as Dr. Tandy and her team have navigated the past year a doctor short! We look forward to incorporating Dr. Suddeth into the schedule for the next year while we continue to search for a veterinarian who plans to put down roots in our beautiful river town.

- Thursday: Regular hours 8am-5pm, technician appointments only
- Friday: Condensing our day to get our crew back home before too much accumulates on the roads. If you need us, please call/visit in the morning!

It’s officially official! Katie, Abby and Dr. Waltz have enjoyed participating on the board that is advising this new local veterinary nursing program. We look forward to supporting its students (and hiring its graduates!)

Ivy Tech Community College Madison is proud to announce the approval of its Veterinary Nursing Program by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Ivy Tech Madison will offer an associate-degree-level veterinary nursing program starting in August 2025. Students enrolled in the program will pursue licensure as registered veterinary technicians (RVTs) and gain hands-on experience working in veterinary practices, laboratories, and agribusiness/bioscience industries.
