The adoption fee is $75 for cats and kittens and $95 for dogs and puppies, which includes vaccinations and spay/neuter. The goal of this page is to provide networking and exposure for animals at the shelter in order to facilitate permanent homes or opportunities for rescue. Although we do our b

est to provide up-to-date information about the animals in the shelter, this page is run by volunteers that are not employees of the shelter and do not have daily interaction with the shelter staff or the animals. If you have urgent questions or need information about a lost or found pet or the availability of a specific adoptable pet, please contact the shelter by phone at 540.948-6945 for the fastest response. We request that all posts on this page, be constructive, professional and reflect principles of honesty, fairness, and respect. Say hi to Tilly!!! She is a beautiful DLH kitty that is sweet and affectionate. She is approximately 2 years old. Tilly enjoys her loving and rubs and doesn’t mind being held. As you can tell by the pictures, she loves just to hang out.

We can’t believe this little girl is still waiting for her forever family to come and scoop her up.
River is a 3 month old Beagle/Lab mix. She truly is the sweetest little thing once she knows you’re her safe place. All she wants is love, attention and to be as close as possible. She would love to have her own place where she can grow and flourish. We know you will not be disappointed with this gal.

Our shy but friendly girl River is still available for adoption. She is a little more uncertain than her sisters, but with some patience and love she warms up quickly. Once she is comfortable, River loves attention and becomes a different pup.

Meet River, Reign and Ren. They are 3 month old Beagle (dad) and Heeler/Lab/ mix (mom). All are females. Don’t let them fool you, they act a little scared but are super love bugs and friendly. They are ready to find their new forever homes. Come by the shelter and fall in love with one of these girls.

This pooch has been seen running loose in the Malvern area near Old Forge/Liberty Lane, most recently near the pond on Liberty Lane. The poor guy was curled up in the snow this morning. Animal Control has attempted to catch him, but he is very skittish. Please reach out to Animal Control if you see him so we can try to get him to a safe place - 540.948.7042. They will respond as quickly as possible.
