🎳 SAVE THE DATE — Bowl for the Brave!
Mark your calendars and gather your team… our Bowl for the Brave fundraiser is happening on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 from 11 AM–2 PM at Rude’s Lanes in DeForest.

This community event supports Custom Canines and helps us provide highly trained service dogs for veterans and first responders.

What to expect:
• Nine Pin Tap bowling
• Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 16th place
• Silent auction and raffles
• 50/50 raffle, meat raffle, booze pull
• Lunch included for bowlers (meal tickets for non-bowlers)
• Great food, good company, and a chance to meet our service dogs in training

Teams of 4 • $25 per bowler

🐾 Big News for Johnny!
Johnny, Nicole’s incredible guide dog, was recently featured on WKOW News for his special “pawtograph” event supporting Custom Canines and our veterans. 📺💛

Johnny stars in Book 13: Boar and the Service Dogs, a children’s book inspired by Nicole’s mission to train and place service dogs with veterans in need of support and guidance.

✨ Proceeds from the book directly support Custom Canines and the work we do every day.

🧠 Wisdom Wednesday
Keeping your pup’s mind busy is just as important as physical exercise! Enrichment activities like freeze bowls help build patience, reduce boredom, and make for a fun, rewarding treat.

Try this easy Freeze Bowl Recipe 👇
- Plain yogurt or bone broth
- Kibble
- Blueberries or sliced banana
- Peanut butter (xylitol-free!)

Layer, freeze overnight, and let your pup enjoy a cool, tasty challenge!

Today and every day, we honor the brave men and women who have served our country, and those who continue to do so. Your courage, strength, and sacrifice make the freedoms we enjoy possible, and we are forever grateful.

At Custom Canines, Veterans Day holds deep meaning. Many of our volunteers, raisers, and trainers are inspired to do what they do because of the impact service members have had on their lives. Each puppy raised, each dog trained, and each partnership formed is a tribute to those who have given so much for others.

Our mission to provide life-changing service dogs to veterans is built on gratitude, respect, and the belief that no hero should ever stand alone.

From all of us at Custom Canines, thank you to our veterans for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering dedication. ❤️🤍💙

🐾 Meet the Member Monday!
Scott and Donna are the proud puppy raisers of Duckee, a sweet girl with a very special mission. 💛

They’re raising Duckee for Scott’s sister, Tori, a military veteran whose current service dog, Benji, will one day retire. Their goal is to help Duckee grow into a confident and capable compression-therapy service dog worthy of Tori’s service to our country. 🇺🇸

We’re so grateful to Scott and Donna for opening their hearts and home to give Duckee the best start on her journey! 💕

We’re so excited to introduce Annie, an adorable 8-week-old Labrador puppy who just joined the Custom Canines family! 💛
