Today’s Badger Honor Flight is especially meaningful for all of us at Custom Canines.

Our Director of Training, Bob Wendler – a proud US Navy Vietnam veteran – boarded the flight this morning with his loyal service dog, Otto, by his side. Bob’s journey is a reminder of why we do what we do: honoring service, fostering independence, and standing beside our nation’s heroes.

Joining Bob are people who make up the heart of our mission — Leann Vick, serving as Bob’s guardian; Nicole Meadowcroft, representing Custom Canines as a VIP; and Deb and Courage, lending support to veterans and staff throughout the day.

We wish them the very best as they take part in this unforgettable experience, and we can’t wait to cheer Bob and every veteran home tonight. ❤️🤍💙

This week, we had the incredible honor of working with a very special U.S. Marine and Vietnam veteran Danny Garcia Walking Man . 🇺🇸

Danny was recently placed with his new service dog, Asher, a loyal German Shepherd who will now walk by his side every step of the way. Asher was lovingly raised and trained by Debbie and Emily, longtime puppy raisers with Custom Canines.

This placement was made possible through the generous supAmerican Warrior InitiativeitiatFairway Home MortgageMortgage. We are so grateful for their commitment to veterans and to our mission.

September is National Service Dog Month 🐕‍🦺🐾

This month we celebrate the incredible dogs who work every day to change lives. For many people, including veterans and first responders, service dogs are more than companions. They are partners, protectors, and lifelines.

But it takes a whole village to prepare each dog for this important role. From puppy raisers and trainers to volunteers and supporters, every step ensures our dogs are ready to serve the people who need them most.

Together, we honor the dogs, the handlers, and the community that makes it all possible.

📚🐾 Back to School with Courage, Waylon, and Violet!

This morning, Courage and Waylon, along with other members of our CARE team, had the honor of joining students and staff at Abundant Life Christian School (ALCS) for their first day back. With wagging tails and gentle hearts, they welcomed kids into their classrooms — bringing smiles, comfort, and a little extra courage for the start of a new school year. 💛

Meanwhile, back at our facility, Violet had her own first day of school, and she’s already “hard at work” in the office! 🐶💼 She took over the desk, grabbed a notebook, and showed us she’s more than ready to hit the books (and maybe sneak in a few treats).

Here’s to a year filled with learning, growth, and plenty of puppy love. ✨🐾

What an unforgettable day at the Springdale Car Show! 🚗🐾

We were honored to be presented with a generous check from the American Legion of Mount Horeb Post No. 113. We are so incredibly grateful for your support, Thank you! ❤️

We loved being back at this amazing event, surrounded by beautiful cars, a wonderful community, and so much kindness. A huge thank you as well to Springdale Lutheran Church for hosting us once again and making this all possible.

And to top it off — every single dollar raised at the show was donated to Custom Canines! 🐕‍🦺✨ Because of this generosity, we’re able to continue our mission of changing lives, one service dog at a time.
