Seven years ago today I set out on an incredible journey that would ultimately change my life. I had never owned a business before and I was absolutely terrified I would fail. I knew the odds were against me, but I was determined to build a place where dogs felt loved and the parents didn’t have to worry while they were in my care. There were so many unexpected things that have happened in this business, but the greatest of them have been the friendships I have made and how so many of you let me become a part of your lives and you became a part of mine. I have seen so many of you get married, have babies, get new puppies, and have grandchildren. I have also stood with you in tears and prayer when you have lost a pet or a parent or gone through something devastating in your life. Dragonfly really has become a family.
So much has changed in the last 7 years. We all survived a worldwide pandemic. We have seen our amazing little city become a place where it seems like everyone wants to be. We have grown stronger. We have reached higher than we ever thought we could and we have achieved goals we once thought were impossible.
With that said, it is with a bit sadness that I am here to announce the closing of Dragonfly Dog Spa at the end of this month. It is time for me to reach higher as well. To achieve a goal I once thought was impossible. I have accepted a full time staff position at Red Barn Animal Hospital and will be going back to school to be a vet tech and then on to the University of Tennessee to become a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner. Physical therapy services for dogs is a service we are severely lacking in our community and I am excited and honored that the Drs. Krum have given me this amazing opportunity to be a part of bringing this to all of us.
Liz Weber at the Wholistic Dog has generously offered to take on my clients. You will all love her. She has over 20 years of grooming experience and has been a friend of mine since 4th grade. Her phone number is 256-679-2061. Feel free to reach out to her, but please understand that she may get a little overwhelmed and not be able to immediately respond. This is a big change for her as well.
I can not thank you all enough for the years of loyalty, friendship, and love. To say that I will miss you all is an understatement. Please feel free to find me on Facebook and keep in touch. And if you ever find yourself looking for an amazing vet team, come join us over at Red Barn! We would love to have you come and grow with us there.
In Love and Light,
Renai Waggoner
