‼️Warning — tear jerker/heartwarming video: Grandma Gertie Houndbottom was rescued from a cruelty situation with more than 20 other dogs. Sadly, not all of them made it out. 😢 Gertie is one of the lucky ones. Sweet Gertie is estimated to be 10 years old and weighs about 50 lbs (she’s already gained 10 thanks to our fabulous rescue partners!! 🎉). She’s a gentle soul who clearly loves people and does well with other dogs though she thinks she needs to fight for meals 🥹 (never again!) so would be best fed separately. Given her history, Gertie will likely need some special love and care, ❤️🩹 and we are thrilled to be able to welcome her into our foster system this weekend. She’ll also get to visit the BRAND NEW clinic to recieve treatment. 🤩 We’re only able to offer high level care in a new purpose-built space because of generous support from our community and donors. Please consider making a one-time or monthly donation to support this important mission 🙏🏼 To give you an idea, the average intake cost for a foster dog at our clinic is $250. Archibald is a boy so so so deserving of love. Those sores on his back side are from being left in a kennel for more than 24/hours at a time where he was kept in an animal control center.
