Time to give a warm Spring greeting to our May Camper of the Month, Daisey!

This beautiful blue eyed mini schnauzer was brought home by her family about 7 years ago. Daisey was from the same breeder as her older brother, Buster who was already a daycamp pack member. Buster sadly passed away a few years ago but their family has continued to bring Daisey to Camp so she can socialize and get all her wiggles out.

Daisey’s name is spelled D-A-I-S-E-Y like her human sister whose name also ends with an E-Y. She’s a big fan of her human sister, especially when she takes her with for “pup cup” runs! At home Daisey loves to get attention from her people; when any one of them arrives or sits down, she runs right over and “pets” them with her own paw until she gets the recognition she deserves. She may be quite tiny but she is excellent at jumping up on furniture. Daisey has been caught on the kitchen table on multiple occasions, likely trying to sneak one of her favorite treats: leftover ham! When she’s not demanding “pets” from her family or counter surfing for snacks, Daisey can be found patrolling the backyard or basking in the sun on her window seat like a cat!

On Camp days, Daisey makes sure her beard and skirt are thoroughly brushed out. She’s gotta look her best for her pup friends! In the car, Daisey jumps excitedly from window to window because she knows where she’s headed. Once at Camp, Daisey heads right to the door leading to our little dog pack. She makes sure to check to see who has arrived already then makes her way over to the pack leader to say hello. She absolutely LOVES “helping” out the staff! Whenever they are setting out blankets and cots or cleaning up messes, Daisey is there “supervising.” Just like at home, if they sit down, Daisey is there to ask for “pets” or offer them kisses! When she’s not snuggling with her pack leader, Daisey can be found running around the yard with Camp friends, like Hobbes, or watching over the group from on top of play equipment.

We have so much fun hanging out with our pretty little “fresh as a Daisey” pup! Our Camp K9 employees are so lucky they get to cuddle with her twice a week. Thank you for your years of visits, Daisey. We can’t wait to see you next!

Does your pup love the water?! 💦 Next Monday looks like great weather to break out the sprinklers! Sprinkler and mini pool fun included in your pup’s day - and there are still spots available to add on Monday and join us for the unofficial kick off to summer activities!

Did you know groomer Tabby is trained in hand stripping? Hand stripping is a method of grooming beneficial for certain coats that removes dead hair without clipping. This is most beneficial for our terrier friends with a wiry top coat.
Our groomers are seeing a busy spring schedule, so book early for your spring clean ups!

Check out a great example of gate work from Katlyn this week! Teaching our pups to be polite and wait at gates and doors is important to keeping pups safe in the day camp environment.
