Please join us in welcoming Kayla to the crew! She is a sophomore animal science student at UW Platteville.
She has always dreamed of working with animals since she worked in animal shelters and shadowed the veterinarians.
Kayla loves to play the piano, hang with her pets, knit and go boating!
We are excited to introduce Trina to you, our new Vet Assistant!
Trina is a veterinary student at UW Madison. When she has a free moment (when she's not studying), she loves hanging out with her pets, exploring coffee shops, and traveling. She rescued her dog Fergus two years ago and, since then, taken in two cats under two from an overcrowded barn. She loves to head up to her family’s cabin and spend time boating or splashing in the water. She says she is excited to join the team and practice the skills and knowledge she gains in the classroom while giving your pets the best possible care.
We have some new faces around the clinic!
You've stopped or called in lately, you may have seen or heard the voice of Lorece, our talented CSR.
She loves animals and the human connection alike and looks forward to chatting with you! (Ask her about her horse, or Medieval jousting she partakes in when you see her!)
June is a great month do adopt a feline companion! If you can't adopt, we encourage to call a shelter and ask them what they could use as donation on their wish list.
Today, we celebrate them, and show them love from nose to tail!
When the thunder rolls, and the lightning strikes...!
We would love to see a pic of your rescue!
🌿🐾 Protect Your Pets: Prevent Lyme Disease! 🐾🌿
· As we embrace the great outdoors with our furry companions, it's crucial to be mindful of tick-borne diseases like Lyme disease. With warmer weather upon us, ticks become more active, posing a risk to both humans and pets.
Here are some tips to prevent Lyme disease in pets:
Tick checks: After outdoor adventures, thoroughly check your pets for ticks, paying close attention to areas like the ears, neck, and between toes.
Tick prevention: Use veterinarian-recommended tick prevention products, such as collars, spot-on treatments, or oral medications, to repel ticks.
Vaccination: Consult your veterinarian about the Lyme disease vaccine, since in Wisconsin, we are considered a high-risk area.
Yard maintenance: Keep your yard well-maintained by mowing the lawn regularly and removing tall grass, leaf litter, and brush piles where ticks thrive.
Avoid tick habitats: Steer clear of wooded and grassy areas, especially during peak tick season.
By taking these preventive measures, we can help protect our pets from Lyme disease and enjoy a safe and happy outdoor season together! Share your own tick prevention tips or experiences in the comments below. #LymeDiseasePrevention #TickAwareness #ProtectYourPets
