Well All of "Bedrock" and "Oyster" eggs have hatched. Aren't they adorable!! They actually started Fed 1st and finished tonight. So it took them 3 days to fully hatch!! This clutch is a nice variety!! 💕

"Bedrock" and "Oyster" babies started hatching for me last night! I think possibly I may see some Hypo Axanthic blends as well. All of these babies are Axanthic blends.

"Cross Hatch" and "Cookie Crumbs" babies! 🫨😲🤯.. Can we say, WOW!! A very small amount of these should also be released by the end of February. I'm already seeing some with a lot of darker undertones!! Absolutely loving these babies!!

Look at the little treasure I found in a small amount of eggs we got from Axolotls by Debbie !! The clutch consists of Leucies and Mel Leucies. Well this one decided it was going to be both! It's a split Leucy/Mel Leucy Mosaic!

Well the last ones we paired, friend zoned each other, so we are giving these two a chance. The male here belongs to MegsLotls that we are using. He was produced by us however.

♀️ "Cobbler" she is either a Mel or Axanthic or both and also a dark pigmented Leucy. Produced by Hog and Lotl Breeders

Dad- "Leviathan" a Copper Axanthic from Kloud Nine Axolotls het Melanoid, White (Leucy)(mom wild- type from Micheal Dommer(mom- Leucy, dad- Copper) dad - Mel Copper from Twin Cities Axolotls)

Mom - "Mean Green Mother From Outerspace" a high expression GFP dark gilled Leucy produced by KloudNine Axolotls het Copper Axanthic, Melanoid, and White (Leucy)(mom- "Galaxy" a GFP very dark pigmented Leucy aka "Blue Pied) raised from eggs she got from a local Facebook purchase in Michigan, dad- "Sasuke" a Copper Leucy from Duel Exotics she bought from Jennifer Watts het Mel and Albino.)

♂️ He is an Axanthic and possibly Melanoid very dark pigmented Leucy produced here at The Mottled Lotl

Mom- "Raspberry" a dark pigmented Leucy produced by us here at The Mottled Lotl. She is het Mel, Axanthic Albino and 50% chance for Hypomelanistic
Mom- "Strawberry" a dark gilled dirty Mel Leucy het everything but Hypomelanistic we received from Brittany June Holster
Dad- "Cafe Mocha" a Wild-Type het all but Albino from Northern Axolotls "Alexander" and "Rose" this pairing has also produced some very dark pigmented Leucies and some gorgeous Hypomelanistics.

Dad- "Scribbles" a dark pigmented Leucy het Axanthic and Melanoid
Mom- "Blueberry Pied" a very dark pigmented Leucy aka Piebald owned by "Brianna Allman" het Albino. She got her from a person who received her from a breeder in Kentucky with only a hatch date of May 2021.
Dad- "Gru" a Super Dirty Leucy produced by Orion's Axolotls and owned by "Mindy Plake" het all but Hypomelanistic. His mom is called "Asteroid" a dirty Leucy with a big black spot on her head received from a local person in Florida. His dad is called "Leviathan " a dirty Leucy she purchased from West Florida Axolotls & Exotics but was produced by Jennifer Barton with KloudNine Axolotls February, 2019 leucy clutch.

Let's hope they will be more than friends!!

I was planning on keeping this Axanthic from our "Bedrock and Axl Rose" but have decided I have plenty I am already keeping and am now making it available to you! These babies from "Bedrock and Axl Rose" have made some very unique Axanthic blend babies that have developed a yellow/greenish color to them as they aged. In April they will be a year old. This particular one I was loving for those creamy white spots in its head. But, we now have it listed on the site!

Our little Split Mosaic is a lot less noticeable as a split now. The best way to still see it is by putting a filter on. Just know, a Mosaic is a Mosaic whether you see it or not. It means its Chromosomes have gone wacky. It's not like you can fix that or it reverses. Some Mosaics are completely unnoticeable but it's what happens inside them that makes them a Mosaic. When we say Subtle Mosaic it's a visual thing. A Mosaic is a Mosaic no matter how visual or not. Now there are definitely different ways the Chromosomes are given to a Mosaic. You can have a Haploid (one set if Chromosomes which can cause them to not make it past hatchling stage unless combined with Diploid) and Diploid (two sets of Chromosomes which is also in a standard living being, but as a Mosaic its two sets are placed in different areas), and Triploid, and on and on. There is actually no end to this. The placement also can sometimes be seen or not, like a Split Mosaic that you can see sometimes one side looking different from the other. Or a Mottled Mosaic where it is splotchy all over. Some are only internal Mosaics, meaning you can't see it at all, but their insides have wacky Chromosomes. Mosaics are a very unique thing of their own. We can't breed for them. Genetics 🧬 and amazing thing that can baffle the best of us! 😊🔬🔍🫨

Dad- "Aggie" a Wild-Type sye got from Jean Cove Wholesale Axolotls & Eggs. Mom- Copper het White, Albino and Melanoid. Dad- Leucy het Mel. (Aggie was proven het Melanoid, Axanthic, Copper, White and Hypomelanstic)
