HPC is a research proven tele-monitoring platform for any pet chronic care condition. Healthy Pet Connect (HPC) is dedicated to ideal weight year-round and lifelong for all pets. We hold an annual “Fit Pets for Rescues” Ideal Weight Contest for our clients and the public. The ideal weight contests have 4 divisions: “Biggest 4-Pawed Losers (Dogs and Cats)”, ”Iron Dogs/Cats" ,” and a “Dog Pack/Cat

Pride Challenge.” The contests are free and open to the public. HPC encourages contestants to pledge to their favorite pet rescue organization or humane society based on pounds lost and we will donate 5 dollars per pound lost to your rescue of choice.

Our amazing Fit Pets for Rescues Big Cats won handsomely while getting healthy 🤩

Vinny, Axel, Harley, and Patches were all successful in Fit Pets for Rescues fundraiser/challenge. They shed pounds at a healthy rate and raised money for their favorite rescues!

The hard work put in by these cats and humans was rewarded in by our amazing sponsors, these kitties purred home with Purina Pro Plan gift cards, Petivity litter box scales, EpiPaws biologic-age DNA tests, Dezi & Roo vet-designed toy kits, and Basepaws breed and health DNA tests. They also got to have access to Sylvester.ai dashboards where their facial expressions were analyzed to see their moods.

"When Madison Cat Project enrolled our larger cat, Harley, in the Fit Pets for Rescues program, he weighed a super cuddly (but dangerous!) 27 lbs. He just wanted to lay around and moved pretty slowly. Under the program, he started his weight loss at a slow, safe and healthy pace, prior to finding his forever home. Harley is now at a cuddly 18 lbs and will be on the program a little longer while in his forever home. Slow is the key word, but he is now jumping, playing and loving his new life.

It's hard for a person to do this on their own. That's why Fit Pets for Rescues is such a great resource for other rescues. Enrolling a larger cat benefits the rescue, the cat and the adopter."

Happy Caturday!🐱
Let's celebrate one of our paw-some pets who has had success using the Healthy Pet Connect platform, hailing from Michigan, is our sweet orange boy, MAX!

Max had a bit of a slow loss to start but he really kicked into gear and he is now under 15 lb!

Max was a bit "hangry" in the beginning of his diet (who isn't), but his dad did a great job of keeping him occupied and less food-focused. Max's very attentive veterinarian, Dr. Meyer of Serenity clinic makes sure that Max is losing at a healthy rate and that his labs look good!

Max is now having good days being playful and spunky, and snuggling with his buddy!

🌟Fit Pets for Rescues: Winning Dog🌟

Meet ✨Katie✨
Katie placed 1st for dogs and 5th overall. With 16 points credited for weight lost and rescue donations, Katie swept the canine category! Katie is the sweetest golden girl who recently overcame a neurological syndrome that impacted her mobility and led to seizures, Thankfully, with the help of a neurology specialist and a diet of Purina Neuro Care, Katie is doing much better!

During her down-time, Katie had put on a bit of extra weight, and once she was on the mend, her pet parents wanted to address her weight before it negatively impacted her health. Thanks to her dedicated parents, Katie is down to a healthy body condition score and has her agility back! She lost 4 # in just 7 weeks at approximately 1.5% average weekly weight loss (AWWL) which is within the 1 to 2% AWWL goal for dogs. Go Katie go!

These cats are transforming thier lives by leaving obesity behind in a healthy way! Here's how 👇

These four amazing kitties, known affectionately as "Spudgie's Big Cat Club" are participants in the FIt Pets for Rescues Competition/Fundraiser powered by Healthy Pet Connect. Using smart scales and veterinary tele-monitoring, their humans measure out precise feeding amounts (recommended by the calorie calculator which takes into account their BCS, ideal weight, and protein intake), their weights are logged every day or every other day, and their veterinarians monitor their trends and adjust caloric intake accordingly.

These kitties have shown improvements in mood and mobility AND get the chance to help out the rescues which rescued them! For each pound lost, cat lovers can pledge donations for their favorite cat, rescue, or vet clinic! These kitties are paving the way to help other rescue pets in need!

Rescue Spotlight: Purring Hearts VA
Purring Hearts is a 100% volunteer-based, organization in Richmond, VA, that helps place vulnerable cats into loving homes. In 2023, Purring Hearts connected 900 cats with their adopters. These amazing volunteers save numerous cats from euthanasia and dangerous living situations. Purring Hearts is a completely donation-based organization and we are thrilled to be able to help them reach their goals.

Ferdinand and Friends helps animals find successful placements, especially in rural areas where larger rescue options are not availabe. We are thankful to support Ferdinand and Friends and help raise money for their wonderful organization!

✨Rescue Spotlight: Dane County Humane Society✨
Dane County Humane Society is a pillar in the Madison area rescue community. For years, DCHS has connected numerous rescued pets to ther furrever homes. DCHS also has a wildlife rescue and rehab which helps local wild animals get on the mend and released.

Dane County Humane Society has been a supporter of Fit Pets for Rescues for years and, of course, brought us our mascot, Spudgie! DCHS contacted Dr. Ken in 2021 when they had an obese cat whose owners were unwell and could not cater to his needs. While Dr. Ken and team were used to helping overweight cats, they were not expecting Spudgie to be nearly 40lb! Spudge did great on his Healthy Pet Connect weightloss program and reached a safe weight to be considered for adoption. However, Spudgie had become a such a staple in Bug's Cat Gym and West Towne Veterinary Center , Dr. Ken signed the papers and officially adopted him!

We love that DCHS puts the needs of their pets first and reaches out to local veterinarians when pets are not medically ready for adoption. Pledge money for Spudgie's Fit Pets for Rescues Pride and donations will go to DCHS!

✨Rescue Highlight: Madison Cat Project✨
Madison Cat Project is an adoption-gaurantee facility in Madison, WI helping rehome surrendered cats and helping feral cats find furrever homes. MCP has been a huge supporter of Fit Pets for Rescues for the past few years and we are thrilled to continue to work so closely with them. MCP specializes in rehoming cats that would have otherwise been euthanized and giving these kitties a second chance.

Our very own member of Spudgie's Big Cat Club, Harley, was surrendered to MCP when his owners were unable to care for him. Due to his size, Harley needed a veterinary team to work with so that he could get down to a healthy weight prior to adoption. Harley was taken to Dr. Ken's Bug's Cat Gym where he spent a few months under the care of the veterinary team while beginning his weight loss journey. Harley had slowly and steadily lost weight and now has found his furrever home with an awesome cat mom in Madison!

Vinny first got involved with Fit Pets for Rescues (FPR) through Dr. Ken's clinic, West Towne Veterinary Center when he came in for a sedated cat groom. Vinny's owner, Toni, was concerned that his size was affecting his ability to groom his beautiful coat. Toni wanted to help Vinny shed the excess weight and live a healthier lifestyle. He received great care from the dedicated team at Dane County Humane Society . Since Spudgie was 37lb and had very limited mobility, the DCHS team contacted Dr. Ken for assistance. Not before long, Spudgie was a resident at Bug's Cat Gym under the care of Dr. Ken and team. Guided by top board-certified nutritionists, Spudgie had a weight loss plan in place and he began his transformation. After many months of dedication, love, and lots of playtime, we're happy to tell everyone that Spudgie has shed an impressive 25 pounds! That's right, he's now a svelte and healthy 12-pound kitty! We couldn't have done it without the incredible support of our friends, family, and the amazing teams at Dane County Humane Society Healthy Pet Connect West Towne Veterinary Center . Spudgie has truly embraced his new lifestyle with a purrfect attitude! Seeing him chase after toys with newfound energy and agility brings pure joy to our hearts. Our special Spudgie has lost 12#!!! We are just getting ready to write his 2021 check to the Dane County Humane Society 5% of his yearly Healthy Pet Connect Subscription and $20 for each pound lost from West Towne Veterinary Center =$255 so far! Yay Spudge and his support team! If you want to co-pledge in 2022 as he loses his NEXT 12# please let us know! We're so proud to say that he's lost nearly 4lbs since the beginning of June! He still has a ways to go on his weight loss journey to reach his ideal weight but with the support of his fans, and his buddy Aspen, he's determined to make it!
