Today's Cat of the Day is beautiful torbie Laverne!

Laverne can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, but when she feels comfortable she will love to play with you and is also quite the cuddler! She is also very food motivated so giving her some tasty wet food is an easy way to earn her trust. She is braver and more confident when there is another cat around, so she will need to be adopted with at least one of the cats she is being fostered with (Moth, Garland and OJ).

Today's Cat of the Day is petite cutie Tiana!

Tiana is 1-year-old and has the most unique coloring...gray, white, and a little black button nose! She has had some health problems since arriving at the shelter, but Dr. Murphy has done a great job getting her on the mend. Tiana is loving, chatty, and loves pets. A family that takes her home might need to keep her on a special diet for a GI disorder. She'd be fine with a house with other cats as long as they give her space.

Today's Cat of the Day is precious ginger cat OJ!

OJ is an 8-month-old, sweet girl who loves to play. She's a little shy at first, but she feels most brave and confident when she has a cat friend, and she's really attached to her foster siblings Garland, Laverne, and Moth, so she should be adopted with at least one of them. She's getting better about being held and petted, and we think she'll be a cuddle bug after awhile. She's already a cuddle bug with her buddies (see photo of her with Garland!) With a little patience and a lot of love, this girl and one of her siblings will become great companions!

Our Cat of the Day on this freezing Tuesday is Mia!

According to her foster: Mia is a 7-year-old small panther. She enjoys sleeping in her bed, looking out the window, and sitting on laps. She's an enthusiastic cuddler who will purr as she walks around on your lap. She likes the ball with a bell in it, especially in the middle of the night, and she likes her catnip toy, but she hasn't been interested in playing with humans. She was a shy shadow at first, then started perching on top of her carrier or near the heat vent, but as she has gotten more comfortable, she's often a lap cat or a next-to-lap cat. She's very social - she wants to be where the people (or other cats?) are. She will probably take some time to warm up in a new home, but once she's comfortable, she'll be a great buddy.

Today was a very special adoption day that we just HAVE to share with all of you!

This morning we sent home one of our long-term residents, Laszlo. Laszlo originally came to MCP in April 2024 after being found as a stray in Manitowoc, WI and spending some time at Lakeshore Humane. While it's typical that most cats who used to live outside manage to adjust to living indoors, we learned through a lot of trial and error (3 unfortunate indoor adoptions and returns) that Laszlo has a really hard time following some non-negotiable "indoor cat rules": p*e always having to go in a litterbox, and not biting people when you want something or don't want something.

Luckily for Laszlo, MCP has an alternative pathway that would better fit his needs and personality: adopting him out to a barn home! While his FIV and kidney disease made him a bit of a hard sell to folks, his new adopter, Brie, knew from his photos online that Laszlo was the perfect cat for her family's property. The adorable meeting between Laszlo and Brie's 4-year-old son made it clear that Laszlo was meant to go with this new family.

His wonderfully patient foster dad, Garrett, got to help introduce Laszlo to his new family, and sent him on his way with some of his favorite treats and toys. While it was a long time coming, this home is truly the best situation that Laszlo could ask for. We couldn't be more excited for him and his new family!

Today's Cat of the Day is Scrabble, another kitty who's been in foster for awhile and is looking for her furever family!

Hey friends, I'm Scrabble! I'm a sweet, friendly lady who can't wait to meet you! I used to live in a home with a LOT of other cats, so I do enjoy having cat friends around to keep me company. But right now, I'm living in my own luxurious bedroom in foster, and I do pretty well by myself as long as I have toys and people to play with me! I can be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, I LOVE all sorts of pets and attention.

Hi friends, I'm Jackie! I'm a six-year-old, sweet, soft lady who can't wait to find my perfect family! I'm a generally laid-back kind of gal, and I enjoy spending my day being cozy and getting attention from my favorite humans. You all were so great rallying around little Luna a couple of weeks ago and she found a home! Now we have another Luna...Luna Lovegood! She's been in foster for quite awhile and she's happy there, but would love to find her furever home.

Luna Lovegood is 6 years old and very friendly! She loves pets, snacks (maybe a little too much!) and taking naps in nice warm spots around the house. She's very playful (as you can see from the picture) and would get along with a respectful cat sibling or two, but she'd also be happy being an only cat! She is a gem and we can't figure out why she's been overlooked for so long. Can you give her the home of her dreams? She'll pay you back in lots of love...it's in her name after all! She'll need some help with a diet, but our adoption folks can recommend lots of strategies.
