RIP our sweetheart!

Hello fellow cat mums and dads,

I wanted to share our Maya with you guys, she passed away from HOCM at the age of 3. While she is gone, she will never be forgotten and always be around to watch over us. Meet Ghost, found in a snowstorm with a bullet in his head

Well, a .177 pellet, not a bullet proper. He started showing up on our outdoor cameras as a dark shadow in the background for a few weeks, then one night in a snow storm he came right up to the back door of our house out in the sticks. So naturally, my wife captured him. Missing teeth, part of an ear, and covered in scars, this cat was 11lbs of solid muscle and a real fighter. Now he's a derpy, tubby, cuddler that lies on top of my 4 year old son every night.

This is nemo! i brought him home yesterday.

If anyone has positive intro stories id love to hear them! Only on day two, think my 1.5 yr old resident is more wary than anything, he hisses and growls but doesn’t seem to wanna attack - he runs away lol

What’s the longest “walkabout” disappearance you’ve ever had a cat return from? 3 damn years.

Over 3 dang years! What the hell. This orange monster inexplicably went missing in October of 2021. I live on a farm, our closest neighbour is miles away. We assumed the worst - coyote, cougar, badger, eagle, owl? Big sad.

Two days ago, this emaciated skeletor of a cat found her way back home. I didn’t even recognize her at first, but the long goofy face and mannerisms brought back my memory in full force. Tattoo is barely legible with her mucked up ears, but matches the vet records. How the hell did this cat manage the last few years of Canadian -40c winters and +40c summers? The nicest cat in the world, whom I’ve never heard hiss, is apparently a bad ass of the highest degree.

I was told that she looks like an ordinary tabby cat. I think she’s nothing close to ordinary. Am I delusional?

I think my 18 y/o cat is preparing to pass soon. What do I do!!

This is Poppy, 18 years old. My father rescued her from a dumpster behind Kmart in 2006 or 7. She was always a very reclusive cat, and extremely protective of my father. My dad told me she “Has always been misunderstood, and only ever wanted to be someone’s cat.” I’m pretty sure she imprinted on my dad or something, because she always had a jealous attitude and never wanted to share him. When my mom and I came into my father’s life, I was a crazy 8 year old and suddenly my dad was sharing his bed with someone other than Poppy. The change was stressful to her and to this day she doesn’t like my mom lol. When I grew up, about 11 years old, Poppy and I started bonding and now she trusts and loves me just as much as my father. Anyway, we moved houses and poppy chose the basement as her bedroom, refusing to leave it unless she wants to go in the yard and loaf up under the sun. Sorry for the yap about her, I’ll get onto the point of this post.
