UPDATE : The bunnies have all been placed 🤗The timing of this bunny dump was especially difficult. As a rule of thumb most Animal Control Officers and rescues dont adopt out bunnies right before Easter. Also, regardless of species, I do full screenings of all adoption applications. This takes time. To make matters worse my colleague at the shelter is highly allergic to rabbits. I’m happy to report I was able to place all 7 in a few different childrens camp, therapy programs and rescue without delay. Many thanks to all who offered to help❤️ Big thanks to Stamford Museum and Nature Center, Deer Lake Camp Pathfinders, Soul Friends and Boomers Best Buddies! To the person who dumped 7 bunnies in a box at the exit area of Hammonasset State Park, you didnt have to do that. If you had simply called I would have helped.
Friends, if anyone is interested in adopting, please call Madison Animal Control 203-245-6500.
All sweet and friendly, they have obviously been handled quite a bit. I’ll be returning all calls 4/7 Monday AM
