🐶🐱 Tiera joined The MAC family in July of 2017. If your babies have boarded or spent the day with us, they’ve most likely been loved on by Tiera. She is our Assistant Kennel Manager and an integral part of our team who helps us “Redefine the Veterinary Experience” daily!

“Hi I’m Tiera and I’m the assistant kennel manager. I have had a passion for animals since I was a little girl. July of 2025 will be my 8th year here at The MAC. What I love most about my job is being a day to day problem solver for my teammates. Whether it’s a question about a dog feeding, location of a pet, or a dogs belongings. Another thing I love is that over the years, I’ve gotten to personally watch more than half of my furry friends grow from puppies to mature adult dogs. Also getting to personally know some of the clients who are behind raising these wonderful babies. From getting them in the morning with a smile and loving on their babies to bringing them back out to theirs cars and telling them how well their babies were that day. Nothing beats creating a bond with both pet parents and their sweet babies. 🐶❤️”

K9 Veterans Day marks the official birthday of the United States K9 Corps, which was established during World War II. March 13th is the day dogs were called to duty. 🇺🇸🐾

At The MAC, we have the honor of caring for the K9’s who protect and serve in Madison, MS. This week we had the opportunity to observe K9s from all over the state and surrounding states at the MLEOA Law Dog Certification that was hosted by Madison PD this year!! 🚨🚓 In honor of K9 Veterans Day, we chatted with a few of Madison PD’s K9 Handlers. Here’s what they had to say:

🇺🇸 Officer Lee Sanders & K9 Ira
Officer Sanders says his favorite part of being a handler is knowing that he has a partner who will always have his back. The word he would use to describe his K9 is FIRECRACKER!! 🧨

🇺🇸 Officer Connor Smith & K9 Kelly
Officer Smith says that he loves the hard work and dedication put in by handlers and K9s. The word he would use to describe his K9 is DIVA!! 🤪

🇺🇸 Officer Ricky Cross & K9 Ersa
Officer cross loves the bond that handlers form with their K9. He says K9 Ersa is like a child to him. The word he would use to describe his K9 is LOYAL! 🩵

With the possibility of bad weather today, we thought we should reintroduce you to Frank! For those of you who don’t know Frank, we installed him several years ago just in case of these times. He will fully power the entire facility as long as needed. 💪🏼💪🏼As always, Frank The Tank will keep our power on during the storm! 😎 If your pets are in our care, rest assured they will be safe and taken care of! Your babies are safe at The MAC!!! ♥️

Our next pet of the month is a very special girl. 💘 For the month of March, we’re so excited to introduce …. 🥁🥁🥁 Miss Sookie Woodward!!!! 🥳

⭐️ Sookie was nominated by MANY members of The MAC staff!!! This sweet girl first visited us as a Webster Animal Shelter pet. Dr. Winford met Sookie and knew that she was the perfect dog for her sister. She adopted Sookie the very next day. 🥹🩷🩷 Her Gotcha Day is January 16, 2025!! 🎂

⭐️ Sookie’s mom obviously fell in love with her instantly. 🩷 Mom says first and foremost, she’s a girl’s girl. 😌

⭐️ Mom also tells us that Sookie LOVES snuggles, pets, and her treats! 🦴 She also loves to run and play with her human cousin, Tripp! 🥰

⭐️ Mom says that she is such a friendly girl (and we would have to agree with her there)! ❤️ She also says that Sookie NEVER barks, and is a bit of a scaredy-cat! 🫣👻

⭐️ Congratulations, Sookie!!! We are SO happy to have you in our MAC family, and even more excited that you found your furever family!!! 🩷🥳

Planning to have your baby boarded with us during spring break or summer trips? Don’t forget to sign them up for Doggy Daycare during their stay!!! 🛝🎾

🌞 All new campers must pass a Temperament Test, which has a charge of $20!! Once they pass, you can sign them up for everyday or choose a number of days during their stay!!! Doggy Daycare is an additional $16 per day for boarders.

“I’m Jamaal Gordon, the Kennel Manager here at Mannsdale Animal Clinic. I’ve worked in the veterinarian field for almost 10 years, and I’ve been a part of the MAC family for almost 6 years now. I’ve worked here at the MAC as Kennel Tech, Team Leader, and Assistant Kennel Manager. The main thing I love about my job is the impact I have on my co-workers. From entry level to co-workers with experience, I like to influence and display the work ethic and drive that a person would need to succeed on a job or task. I always say when asked what it’s like being a manager, it’s pretty much like riding a bike. Sometimes, you have to put in extra work to get up the hill, and sometimes, it’s smooth sailing.”
