Tony on Koda looking awesome. He's actually doing a foxtrot here with the slight headbob and short high action in the back legs.
Here's Lisa having some fun on Nina!
Our new yearling filly-in-training Zana! Owned by Marianne Bowman in Georgia.
For your consideration
Legacy's Diesel McCurdy is a yearling McCurdy & TWHBEA registered bay roan colt by Little John Lester with grandsire McCurdy's Roan Lightning on both sides! Foal date April 25, 2023.
He is color tested double homozygous- black AND roan! EE, Aa, RnRn. So no red and always a roan foal.
In addition to an ideal conformation and temperament he is as calm as can be. He already leads perfectly, backs, ties, cross ties, picks up feet, is used to water crossings. Super gentle and friendly. He already has a great gait and foundation to start with.
TWHBEA and McCurdy papers in hand!
Here's our new pretty little lady, Sonata! She loves to run & play!
Well broke, sweet, and sturdy, this mare is a safe, fun ride and shes available!
She carried her rider 3 hrs through the mtns yesterday over many obstacles and we were so pleased with her great attitude. This horse is reliable and sensible!
☀️ Sweet Caroline ☀️
Grade Tennessee Walker style mare
Gaited
Vet aged 15 years old
About 15hh tall
Black Sabino
Current on vet & farrier
This sturdy mare is trail experienced, she will cross water, bridges, logs, and rocks with careful steps, and deals well with traffic, pedestrians, dogs, other horses, and more. Good for trailer, catching, grooming, tacking, leading, farrier, vet. Shes sweet natured and aims to please!
Caroline is suitable for the rider with a good grasp of the basics. Her rider needs to be comfortable using a firmer hand to slow and stop. No crazy stuff, just those who prefer soft cues might enjoy her less.
She would be well suited to ride with other Walkers. Shes not a speed demon, she will walk on a loose rein, she does have a long stride. Prefers to ride with others but will go alone. Likes to lead and doesnt mind following either.
Caroline doesnt look her best yet. She came to us quite skinny and still has filling out to do in the ribs and topline. We believe the summer grass combined with her vet recommended diet will get her looking great by the fall.
Sound and otherwise healthy, Caroline has a mild occasional cough that only seems to occur when stalled. The vet has checked her out and feels she can be ridden normally.
If you or someone you know might be interested in Caroline, please PM the ranch or Shannon Hines for videos and more info.
The Legacy Training Team some new happenings!
Please welcome Auburn Cherry, our new working student! She is an experienced, confident young rider who is excited to learn. She will be working with the training team and helping around the barns.
Chelsie Ledbetter and Shannon Hines have started taking roping lessons on some of the quarter horses in traning! Zeus and Chica did a great job despite being out of practice.
Comet is a 2 yo Rocky Mountain Horse stallion. His bloodlines are superb and it shows. Not only is he put together with a beautiful conformation, and his gait is super natural (it took very little effort on our part to make it so perfect), but the best part is his super sweetie pie personality. So gentle and calm, especially for a stallion. We're very proud of him.
I was so sure Teri Payne's Morgan horse was gaited, I tried it out. Bingo! Terri did a terrific job getting him to gait, too. She's hooked! And thrilled. Nice job, Teri!
Witchers rack is looking nice! Used to be his nose was so high he would drown in a rainstorm! Lol!
This is Chelsie Ledbetter starting out this 5 yo Mustang, Tinza. He was started lightly on the range in Nevada by his inexperienced owner and is here for more training . She is trying to teach him to drive off from the shoulder. He's quite reactive as you can see. I had a Dickens of a time getting him loaded to come over! Let's see how he progresses in the future.
Here's Brian Cassidy in his first ever groundwork lesson yesterday. Katherine started in the round pen at liberty & completely snubbed us and left. It took a lot of work & finesse. This is his accomplishment at the end of the session. I was amazed.
