Zac and Kenzi’s splash for the Jr. Handler division. (Video by Ally)
A couple days late but here is what’s happening with the 3 Alarm crew.
We spent a few days at Kinners on 97 for a NADD this past weekend. Kenzi started of Friday great with a hydro dash run of 16.321. She and Zac were having an off day for distance, but them were still hitting the 18’6” mark. Saturday Kenzi did Air Retrieve, she is loving this new discipline. She was able to up her PR to 11’ and move into the next division.
Kaily was on point. Her and Ally are still learning, but that didn’t stop them! Not only did Kaily extend her PR to 12’6”, she also earned her dock Junior title. Kaliy and Ally also qualified for Regionals as a junior handler team!!!!!
Next stop will be regionals sept 5-9 in Imana,IA.
Go Team Kenzi and Team Kaily!!!
The Three Alarm crew spent the weekend in Caseyville,IL. It was an exciting weekend for sure. Zac and Kenzi were hitting 18’3” on distance, then had a hydro dash run at 17.950. Kenzi was introduced to Air Retrieve. Her furthest grab was at 8’. Her bumper targeting is getting a lot better and she’s learning that she needs to jump up to get the bumper. Kaily was a rockstar at her first competition! She started off the weekend with a 5’ jump in distance. She became comfortable on the dock pretty quick. Ally also started jumping her as a junior handler. Ally and Kaily earned Kaily’s Dock Novice title with a 8’3” jump. Kaily didn’t stop there, her last jump of the event was 10’3” which put her in the next division. Ally and Kaily are working toward their junior handler jumps to go to regionals in September.
Miss Kaily will be making her competition debut this weekend into the world of dock diving. She has worked hard on jumping off the dock. She is even almost to the point where she doesn’t even need a holder!
I finally got our custom metal holders hung up. Mitch at Fire Line Metal Works did an amazing job on these! From raw steel to finished powder coating everything was done in house!
First pool day at grandma’s house. Of course Kenzi and Kaily had to jump in after their bumpers. Kenzi was helping teach Kaily how to get to the steps and out of the pool.
Kenzi, Zac and I spent Saturday morning at Kenzi’s happy place Kinners on 97. They hosted a dock diving clinic by Enuk dock diving training and Rusty Boone. We learned a lot and have even have some “homework” to do. We are looking forward to using what we learned and have worked on this weekend.
Kaily dock into
Day 2
Kenzi started her day off with an 18’9” jump. Not bad for the first jump of the day.
Little miss Kaily worked on dock intro. She was retrieving the toy off the ramp. We also let her walk around on the big dock. She loved it!!! She is going to be jumping in no time!
Rhodey working off the ramp. Before we know it he will be jumping off the dock!
This is one of Kenzi’s first FastCAT runs. Our daughter made the video.
