If you would like an opportunity to ride under SHN judge Carol Bishop prior to the nationals you can still do so, no post entry fees. Email Sherri Re your info. Stalls still available and you can enter ALL OTHER DIVISIONS up until the beginning of the show. Do not mail any entries, email them to Sherri Re. If you haven’t entered but decide to come contact barn manager Julie Long for your stalls. Prizelist is available on www.reg15aha.com and www.vahaclub.com Exhibitors party and stallion presentation on Friday evening.

🏆 Congrats to Coleen English and Anniversary Scootin earning TWO circuit champions in L2 Ranch Trail & L2 Amateur Ranch Trail! Such an accomplishment against some steep competition. 👏

♥️ Natalina Olson and GoodGosh Ima RedHead made their debut with CTC Performance & Sport Horses holding their own, placing top 8 in great Rookie and Nov Am Ranch Rail and Ranch Riding classes. ♥️

Also, a recent study showed that continuous cold hosing (2 minutes) was the most effective way to cool an overheated horse. Ride responsibly!

"HOT" TIPS FOR SAFE SUMMER RIDING

As you enjoy some fun in the sun with your favorite equine, make sure you understand how the combination of heat and humidity can take the fun part out the equation — and potentially even turn into a dangerous situation for your horse.

When riding in hot weather, remember to take precautions and use your common sense. Remain vigilant for dehydration and for signs of heat exhaustion, as the situation can quickly escalate into heat stroke. If your horse looks hot and tired, it's time for a drink, a cold bath and a break in the shade.

Trail Riders! Looking for some winter fun?

Update: We have had a lot of interest in the trail ride! To help us prepare please don’t wait to register if you are planning to come.

Join us at Willowdale Farm in Fredericksburg on Saturday January 14, 2023 for a fun winter trail ride (riders must bring their own horse). The trail is 5.5 miles and includes water crossings, moderate hills, a scavenger hunt, optional jumps, prime canter locations, and a t-shirt. The marked trail is through the farm and surrounding private lands.

The trail is $60/Rider and open 10am to dusk. All riders are required to wear a helmet while mounted. Under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. A negative coggins for each horse must be provided upon arrival (digital or printed) and all riders (or guardian of) must sign the liability waiver prior to riding. Ride at your own risk. No dogs permitted on the trail.

All proceeds benefit Campfire Critters Animal Sanctuary.
