PSA: At this time we will need to place a pause in taking in sanctuary horses. This breaks my heart to say this. Unfortunately, once a horse is in our care we just can’t seem to get donations for them or sponsors. Every month it cost around $6,240 to support the 22 horses in our sanctuary. This is board, hay, grain, supplements, medication, shavings, and farrier. Not including the yearly veterinary care and dentals. Most of this comes from our own personal pockets and it just is not working. Now obviously the ones currently in our care will be cared for as they always are. However, unless we can get sponsors and free long term Foster’s all these sanctuary horses we are always asked to help we have to turn away. We have taken in multiple other horses that other rescues have had to turn away and that is only because of our amazing foster homes. However, at this pace it is not sustainable. I love our cast aways and I love being able to help them. Our sanctuary horses range from 4 years old to 31. Our senior horses need more specialized care obviously. If you are interested in fostering a sanctuary horse or heck even a riding horse shot a message. If you can offer a sponsor ship please do so below

ITS $5 Friday and per usual im late starting. However its been a fun week haha

Jeeze idk about you but I think three different injuries at three different facilities in a week should be good enough 😂😂 I’m waving the surrender flag hahah. Comache apparently wanted to reconstruct his face no stitches for him but he get antibiotics for two weeks. Got a message from quarantine in Oklahoma that Ellie the palomino mare from auction decided she wanted to take off part of her eyelid. Thank goodness the eye is not affected. The vet is on their way out to stitch her up. Then oh Pegasus silly girl. The though a gate latch was a good way to start her morning last Friday. So our vet in Maine came out and stitched her all up left a drain and will be back out to take the stitches out. (So shout out to all of our sanctuary boarding facilities, fosters and quarantine providers have a talk with your horses today and tell them I need a few months before the next injury 😂😂😂) we have been able to intercept a few horses from auction which has been amazing and looking for to doing more!! There for we need aftercare funds for everyone so we can continue to do this plus add back into our auction account. So for this $5 Friday please consider a donation below

Hey everyone! We have an important auction coming up on Monday and we need your help to make a difference. There will be many horses going through, and we know that dealers and kill buyers frequent these auctions. Our goal is to prevent even one horse from falling into the wrong hands. We try to make a difference whenever we can, but we can't do it without your support and donations. If you're able to contribute in any way, it would mean the world to us and to these horses in need. Let's work together to make a positive impact and save these horses from a bleak fate. Thank you for your support! .

Meet George Clark, a senior draft gelding who was rescued from an auction and now calls our sanctuary home. Despite his advanced age and struggles with arthritis, George is a fighter. He has a gentle spirit and a heart of gold, and he has quickly become a beloved member of our herd.

George may not be able to do the things he once could, but he still has so much love to give. He enjoys spending his days grazing in the pasture and soaking up the attention from our staff and visitors. We are honored to provide George with a safe and loving home where he can live out his days in comfort and peace.

George Clark is a true inspiration, showing us all that age and physical limitations don't have to define us. We are grateful to have him in our sanctuary and look forward to many more happy days with this sweet senior draft gelding.

do we have anyone in the Virginia area able to act as a short-term layover for pups. As we are expanding our rescue branches we have been expanding to help the strays living in the streets in Virginia. Therefore we really don't know much about them except what the kind people who have found them have told us about them. We do provide food and have it sent to you. We only ask that you can bring to the vets for us we will call in payment

Attention amazing supporters!!! As you may of guessed we are branching and expanding to include dogs and cats in our rescue efforts. Our goal is to not only help local dogs but those in the south. Just over the last few days the number of dogs we have been contacted about that are dumped in junkyards, mommas giving birth to their pups under porches, dumped on the side of the road is utterly heartbreaking. We will be making a new page with this branches information. In the meantime if you are interested in fostering please let me know. Please note these dogs are living on the side of the road. They will have their vaccines series started prior to transport BUT WE KNOW NOTHING ON THEM!! If able or interested in fostering please let me know . Looking to also build a network system in Virginia to hold over until transport north.

Today, we want to shine a light on Pegasus, a beloved member of our sanctuary family. Pegasus has been in long-term foster care for 3 years, finding comfort and solace in our sanctuary. Despite her battle with arthritis, Pegasus continues to thrive in a loving and supportive environment.

Pegasus's journey serves as a reminder of the importance of providing a safe and caring space for animals in need. We are honored to be able to give Pegasus the care and attention she deserves, ensuring that she lives out her days in comfort and peace.

Pegasus's resilience and spirit inspire us every day, and we are grateful to have her as a part of our sanctuary community. Let's continue to spread love and compassion to all creatures, especially those like Pegasus who need it most. 🦄💖

Who remembers Sharky De Vie . He is a standardbred rescue from a Pennsylvania kill pen a few years ago. Unfortunately , Sharky had made his way back to us. We were contacted from his previous adopter that Sharky was exhibiting soundness issues and they could no longer keep him as at this point he is not sound to ride. Sharky arrived to one of our sanctuary placements today where at 8 years old he will live out the rest of his life because he deserves it. If you would like to sponsor Sharky or contribute towards his care please do so below
