Don't mind the mess, it's still a work in progress. The girls are loving the new fenced in area. Thankfully, after some play time, a good shake of a treat bag gets them to come in the house lol.

Hey ,

As some of our new puppies start to prepare to go to their new homes from Mainely (and in association with Howling Creek), we thought we would share the attached link from the AKC with regard to handfeeding. Some owners are well experienced with raising pups, especially food-driven pups and/or northern breeds like NAIDs, Siberians, etc., so this is old hat to you. However, for everyone else, this is your friendly reminder to remember to engage in consistent handfeeding for the first few months that your pup is home and intermittently throughout their first two years of life especially. There are MANY benefits to doing this, but the primary benefit is to build trust, especially around resources, and to mitigate resource guarding which northern breed dogs can especially be prone towards. If this behaviour is not intervened and modeled properly from an early age, it can become really difficult to change as a puppy matures. Engagement in group or individual puppy and intermediate puppy classes are also a must for social skills, social exposure and basic obedience and trust building. ☺️

Last but not least, it's Maple and Beaver. Maple was a very shy girl until last week. Her personality has exploded, lol. Beaver is the middle of the pack. As you see, if he's with a confident pup, he does great! Alone, it does take him some time. What fluffy little loves they are 💜💙

Next up is Coast Guard, aka Chippy and Kanata. Both were not so sure of the snow. They thought it tasted good, but that was it, lol. Kanata was super sassy but has mellowed a bit. New things can be a little scary. Chippy also takes a bit to get used to things. 💜💙

Then we have double trouble!! Canuck is super sweet and has started to explore his surroundings more each day. Sorry, Eh is the bravest male and tends to be very interested in new things. 💙💙

Here's Navy, aka Little Bit and Air Force. These 2 are complete opposites, lol. She is a free spirit who also loves to be the center of attention. He is a little slower to come out of his shell but then he's super playful and curious. 💜💙

It's Ottawa, and Marines turn in the snow. Marines was quite brave, and I was so proud of her. Ottawa is a great mix of sweet and spice 💜💜

This is Army and Space Force (now Boston). It's their first time in the snow. We will be going out daily as weather permits. I just love Space Force and his face plow through the snow and Army doing his Army crawl 💙💙

Babies are definitely building little personalities 😍

These babies are becoming more active. Still lost of eating, sleeping, pooping then repeat 🤣🤭

The Military litter was still a little sleepy, but they are adorable 😍

The Canada litter is on the move now. Momma wanted to be part of the fun lol

Our Storm x Denali litter this morning. Storm is willing to share her babies if momma gives her cuddles time.
